"He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgement: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he." ( Deuteronomy 32:4 )

"The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou setteth thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly...The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee...The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflamation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish." ( Deuteronomy 28:20,21,22 )

Scout - TOTALLY out of context!!!

    Deuteronomy 28: 1-2:

"If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands that I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God."

(A list of different blessings follows)

    Deuteronomy 28:15-16

"However, if you do not obey the LORD your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come on you and overtake you"

(Followed by a list of curses, some of which you posted)

Chapter 32 strangely is a hymn of the people's own acknowledgement that God blessed them in the past when they followed his instructions and acceptance that he was being just when they suffered for not following his instructions.

Gross oversimplification here but its the usual scenario example:

Tell a child the rule "Don't steal", consequences if you obey the rule, you will be ok, consequences if you don't obey the rule, you will get grounded, lose your pocket money, get in trouble with the police etc.

Does this make a parent a Jeckyll and Hyde person?

"Does this make a parent a Jeckyll and Hyde person?"

This is the best a christian apologist can come up with? LOL... Your comparison is logically flawed Emo. Parents may discipline their child by giving them a "time out" or stern lecture. They

DONT strike them dead with fireballs coming from the sky or plague them with horrors. Scouts quotes are NOT out of context and demonstrate perfectly what a vicious, vindictive asshole your old-testament god really is.

Did you spot this bit that I wrote Kid-A?

Gross oversimplification here but its the usual scenario example:

Scouts quotes were out of context for the very reason that explained them within context - I don't see any point arguing that if you aren't going to read though. He pulled ONE verse which portrays God as someone who only punishes whilst ignoring the pretext that he had also promised blessings beforehand. Surely you don't need me to spell it out for you?
