Your Dynamic Personality—how do others see it?

In life you encounter hundreds, thousands, and even tens of
thousands of unique individuals and personalities. One thing
that stands clear—there are no two personalities that are
    exactly alike.

How do other persons see you?

The common factor that binds us together in a sense is
our communication on this discussion board. However,
just like being in the Kingdom Hall, it only offers one
    perspective regarding your personality.

If an individual asked people who knew you, how
do you think they would describe you?

    How do you see yourself?

Do you see yourself as an angry, bitter, or
happy individual? Is there another side of
you that individuals on this discussion
    board do not readily see?

    The benefits in answering

By answering these questions you may meet
and contact someone on this board that
    feels as you do.

In addition, it can provide a valuable learning
experience for you and others, to get to know
    you better.

Please post your responses for the benefit
    of yourself and for others.

    Respectfully,

    The Wanderer

P.S. I have been described by others to
be a helpful, considerate and positive
    person.

    What about you?

    Rich:

I don't think posting on a message board will give people a complete view of any person. In some cases, it might even give a wrong view. People are just too complex to be figured out totally when you are not seeing or hearing them in person and don't have the whole picture.

As far as how I was viewed in the hall, I would say negatively by certain ones although there were a select few who liked and respected me. I didn't spout the party line as much as they would have liked. I am not a "yes" person. Some said I was intelligent and incisive which is not a quality wanted in a member of a high control religious group.

I was not concerned how I was viewed and I think this bothered SOME who were too concerned how THEY were viewed. Pity for them!

This is mostly a delusional effort. How likely is it that you are fully who you really are to everyone around you? Not very.

How likely is it that a person will tell you what they really think about you? Not very.

Most people are too afraid of offending, either way.

I tend to be very, very shy and feel extremely awkward in group settings and I've been told that people assume I'm stuck-up because of it. It's probably the result of anxiety (avoidant personality disorder, I think. Yes, I DO blame my upbringing as a JW and family dysfunction).

Although, I do okay one-on-one; I can even be very argumentative and obnoxious when I feel safe or profoundly provoked. Oh Dear. Isn't that a shame?

I do try to be friendly, but I think it comes off as insincere. I don't feel that I make a very good impression on people, although there are some people who do actually seem to like me very much. A few even love me unconditionally, so I might as well not worry about what strangers think, huh?

I just try to pretty much behave myself most of the time, and no one seems too bothered by me.

Madame Quixote - I think your JWD personality is nice! Even when you were fired up about the linkword popups yesterday - something which maybe some might say is overreacting, I saw that as someone who is deeply passionate about injustices.

Maybe when you think about it, really bad personalities are quite rare - it's how we channel and utilise any perceived 'flaws' that counts.

I was a lot like you until a few months ago - wouldn't say 'boo' to a goose, I even asked permission to post on JWD lol! I'm working through the past damage now - it does get better.
