Talk about fishy!

I am trying to keep my diet healthy seeing I was in the hospital and had to eat light and also cleanse my system for that dang surgery. So tonight, seeing I could get nobody to do anything more than just to drive me to the store, I decided to have fish. So I made a salad from a cut mix of radishes and carrots, snap peas and green types.

Added a broiled piece of white fish flavored with Kosher Sour Salt (sour like vitamin C) and sea salt with fresh ginger. I laid this on the salad topped by fresh cherry craisins, cherry tomatoes, and feta garnished by a side butternut squash that was steamed. All fresh with no extra butter or sauces.

So is this a heart attack waiting to happen? I ask because this because this is normally along the lines of how I eat, (and this was a very small portion) I cook big, but then share a plate with the baby and the older son comes by and wants some, the roommate and tonight my teen daughter wanted a ton of my fish. So basically I had squash and fish. Skip the rest.

I have not had but two cups and I mean an actual normal coffee cup of coffee for this whole week and I am normally a two shots of double esspresso kind of gal. (sp) (each morning) The drugs the doc had me on for pain seemed to kill the headaches while I detoxed.

Anyhow, before this operation I had so many things going wrong down in the lower regions it was as if nothing went in or out and if food went in, I immediately gained weight. My doctor said I would see a lot of changes and I seem to be seeing what he said, but I am afraid to believe it. I stepped on the scale and the day of the operation and I had hit an all time large. (Lets leave it at that) When I came out I was all bloated and worried that I was going to look like a stuffed pig forever, but today the swelling is going down and I find myself almost (just shy) 20 lbs less.

I want to work with this and my whole body just feels different. I am starting to think some of my theories and the docs theories were right. My body is working like I have not seen it work in 10 years and that is a long time to be living in pain and missing half a month if not the whole month feeling dragged down. The feeling I felt of a constant drain does not exist now. I cannot believe it.

Anybody have this happen after taking care of a hysterectomy? Does it continue if you work with it? I really am not doing anything different than before but I am relaxed and sleeping soundly. I am eating more than normal actually and not excercising at all. (I can't yet) The most I have done was catch a ride to the store today and pick out a slice of fresh fish to broil.

Just wondering if this is too good to be true? I am feeling really swell despite the extreme fatigue of walking in the store.

    Hey Decki,

You're not overdoing it, are you? How long since surgery? I had two surgeries and it took me a while to get moving and I likewise had to eat light. I'm not a candidate for a hystericalectomy, but all my friends and family who have had one each had to be CAREFUL to not go overboard. They felt better soon and started back to normal and then the fireworks began---relapse. You said you might be naughty and blame it on the other Sparky---it won't work cuz I'm a GUY! Please get help or let it go. When you're healed you'll know it and be back to your old hard labor. Keep us posted.

Cranky COCOSparky...I am fine. I am going stir crazy, but all I did was eat fish and walk in a supermarket. Really. I did type a lot and I whined at a friend to keep me company. (did not happen) Other than that I am being good.

Oops I forgot, I bathed, shaved, and painted my toes today.

Errrrr.. and read read part of the book, 'If the Buddha got stuck'. I also had a hadful of chips and two...TWO pieces of jerky. I think that is it.

Painting toes wore me out. They are pretty though. All rose colored. Not a one of them did I stay in the lines on. haha!

But the surgery is not done how it was done back when the dinos roamed. Now they just make three slits about an iinch long and one is in your navel. The uterus and damaged parts come out of there. Very minimul exposure and cutting.

You will just feel better and better, with more energy than you had in a long time. It was the best thing I ever did! Without that monthly energy sap, you'll feel so good, and if you gradually add exercise every day, you won't put on weight. I did have a problem with tiring easily when I first went back to work. Don't go back too soon. I recommend the Hystersisters website, for good message boards and stories and advice. You're doing great!

Since you almost feel like you're starting a new life, it's a logical time to start eating healthier too. Good for you!

sounds like health heaven on a plate, if you've been laid up for a whiles then any moving around is going to tire you pretty quick even if it doesnt seem like you've gone far or done much, you just have to walk before you can run again.

    Dear Rosy Toes,

Sounds like you're in fine fettle! So glad to hear. I sure understand about stir-crazy, though. But now, at this point in my life, I like to potter about and just enjoy my dear new friends here w/o the constant rush out the door. My life is so simple now that I work a few hours and then come home and rest and read (on-line and real books). All those years of long hours scrubbing toilets, washing windows, mopping floors, etc. Then hour upon hour of meetings, service, elder duties....That's all over now, and no guilt and no regrets. My advice is what my grandmother gave my dad and he gave me: "Don't ever get old!" Enjoy your youth, Sparky, and love your kids; I know you do! Get weller sooner.

    Your new friend,

    Sparky
