  From todays's newspaper we read...

  Bush's order targets bin Laden's al-Qaeda network and includes a list of 27 organizations and individuals identified as front groups that raise money to support his international terrorist network. He conceded most of those on the list, including known terrorists and non-profit organizations, operate outside the U.S.

  "They often times use nice-sounding, non-governmental organizations as fronts for their activities. We have targeted three such NGOs," he said.

  "We're putting the banks and financial institutions around the world on notice" to comply with the order. If they don't, Bush said, the U.S. Treasury Department will freeze their assets and stop them from doing business in the U.S.

  Intersting no? Isn't the WATCHTOWER on that list ....? Soon it will be their turn!

  No offense biblexaminer; but you're stretching things way out there beyond reason.

  Just because GW uses the word "NGO" means the WTBS is next? Sorry, as they say in basketball, that was a major "airball". No game.

  Really...

  I read an interesting letter to the editor of the Financial Post on the 17th. If you had read that, then you would understand more about how people, (and the Governments are the people's advocates) feel toward the JW types, as a result of the WTC situation.

  As an example, in FS yesterday, a "sister" in the car group told an experience about anpther sister in NY city. Seems there was a special meeting concerning FS that she didn't attend, and also went out in FS without going to the group.

  She went to a door, and read Daniel 2:44 to the householder and went on about DESTRUCTION etc. The householder called the cops!

  The cops came and gave her some NEW FS instructions and told her to go home.

  JW's are going to be hit hard in the coming days, for not only are they "un-patriotic", they also preach (or at least will be viewed as preaching) the same kind of message as the terrorists.

  I am a JW, albeit a SCAB (So Called Apostate Brother) and I already feel it. I hear about it. I am going to live it.

  If you don't think that the Gov'ts will start looking at the WTBTS, then you need to have another coffie and look outside. You should take your eyes off the monitor for a while.

  Hi bx,

  Great observation that I have been thinking about too.

  However, as we know - it is the "group" that gets the focus. I think in today's society, the USA has targeted certain groups and unfortunately if you are an Arab, you could be the target of some bigotry. The WTS is not one of the focus groups.

  Will the WTS feel real pressure from the government over their "death" to all but them crap? Maybe. Especially with people like Tallyman showing his pictures to the right people.

  But it will have to take some monumental work and press reports before the USA aims any kind of "sustained" law enforcement at them. Just look at what I have reported to a certain person in Toronto. You know what I have done. Yet, it has taken months to get it this far and I don't see any excitement coming from this certain person yet.

  Maybe the dateline show and a few books may, and I say may, help but who knows. Right now the government "spin" and focus is Afkanistan and the groups it harbours. There is way to much at stake right now to focus on anything else.

  As for your FS. I feel so sorry for you and wish I could get your wife to see without the glasses. I am confident some day soon she will take them off and you will have to come visit me in Ktown on saturdays instead of risking your life by knocking on somebody's door to sell them some snake oil.

  You're becoming delusional again!!!! You're still locked in the WTS mode of making predictions. So the Government is going to hit hard on the Watchtower - in what way pray thee?

  - freezing WT assets after finding the Org. is linked with Osama Bin Laden?
  - ramming Witnesses into prison?
  - banning their door to door preaching?
  - turning Brooklyn bethel and Patterson into arm producing/storage facilities?

  What you fail to realize is that the WTBTS has for decades preached the scenario of persecution. None of that would surprise the rank and file. They'll simply find solace in suffering and further "proof" that they're the true religion after all.

  Wake up, Brother. The WT will go under more as a result of its own internal contradictions than of a hammer from the authorities.

  As a fellow SCAB of sorts, haven't you realized that the BORG has already issued new FS instructions? Haven't you been reading the threads about the 'reprinting" of the AW on terrorism and the new guidelines they are following in the aftermath of this attack?

  It seems that either your hall is in the dark and some of your publishers don't follow directions well or maybe your eyes need to be unglued from your monitor. Check again.

  Despite the lack of patriotism and selfishness on the WTBS, it is going to be along time before governments finally wake up and get rid of religion altogether, all of it.

  Too many Jews in power and too many right-wing conservative WASPS.
