Did anyone see the Awake! article that basically condemns 'Grandmother's Day'? Funny!

I did see that. At first, I was kinda surprised that they would go THAT far. Then, I stopped and realized that this was the Watchtower Society, where anything can be printed and believed by the JW's.

An interesting thing about this is, in the Congregation I used to go to, some of the JW's celebrated "Nurse Day" at school.

I don't read the mags. any longer. But I can believe it.

I was surprised. I can't wait for my dub wife to read it.

I always hope that each boneheaded thing they write will wake her up a little more.

Yeah, doesn't surprise me....they view it as "idolizing"...the bible tells us to "honor thy mother and father", then they say we can't celebrate Mother's day, Father's day or Grandparents' day.

    They're completely daft at headquarters.

    Dear Grandchildren,

I miss both my grandmothers, as they loved me unconditionally, fed me, and taught me the love of the garden. My maternal grandparents provided me a safe and tranquil haven, a respite from the tumult of the family scene. My paternal grandmother, though not officially a JW, loved to go to Sunday meeting to enjoy the comments of all the little ones. She was simple but dear.

    Missing them,

    CoCo
