    Ok here's what's up:

Building a business. Had a webguy. Webguy got "lost" somewhere in the USC campus. Haven't heard from the guy since August. I'm sure he's busy, but I've got products but no site.

    Either:

    a) I have to do this myself

    or

    b) Get someone else to do it, but who?

I'm putting out an sos to all my online buddies

If anyone has advice they can offer, or experience, I (and my husband) would be incredibly greatful.

    Thank you

I found a great ecommerce website that I'm gonna use for my business. Try www.volusion.com The backend is all set-up and it is quite robust. I checked out several companies that do the same thing, but this one was by far the best. They have a free trial period.

Yes, I used mediachase eCF (www.mediachase.com). Mainly because it was my area of experience / expertise (ASP.NET, SQL etc...).

There are two approaches: Pick a package that doea what you want and then get hosting for it OR pick a package that suits the hosting and expertise you already have.

Some hosting companies offer commerce packages / shoping carts as part of their offering.

What is best will often depend on where you are and what you are going to be selling.

If you want to do it yourself here is another suggestion. Purchase a template (one time purchase) and customize it with your info and pictures..I've built a couple using the $15 version below as an add on service for clients.

    Basic version for $15 http://allwebcodesign.com/templates/samples/min01Cart.htm

More deluxe version $95-$115 go to http://allwebcodesign.com/setup/icarts.htm

scroll down to pro shopping carts.

You buy it once and its yours, then you get a normal hosting plan....these days at Ipower for about $8-9 a month.

I'm not suggesting this way to be cheap, but since it is an ecommerce site you will have to be intimately familiar with it because of changing products and prices anyway, so might as well own it.

Hope this gives you another option

sorry I took off, not feeling so swell tonight.

Thank you guys for these links I really appreciate them.

I had a chance to look through them and there might be some possibilities there.

The template idea might be a smart way to go, I need to get a little sleep and check them out tomorrow.

    Thank you so much!

    Again, sorry I took off.

Why don't you try the Yahoo stores? They have a built in ecommerce store which you can customize without knowing web development. You just need to sell your products there but they do have a small % as commission.
