Thoughts on The KM Blood insert

  Hello people, I live in Australia so maybe this is old news to you guys who live in the USA, but in the Australian NOV KM its has an insert regarding Blood, maybe you USA guys got it on OCT, but it seems to me that they are watering down the blood issue,
  for the first time they are letting the reader ask themselves the question about how their conscience would feel regarding taking blood, this has never being the case before, they’ve always said “A Christian would not do this…A Christian would not do that…”

  I’m sure you guys have read the insert, any views?????

  The insert was pretty clear that J W' s do not accept transfusions of whole blood or its 4 main components . I do not see any watering down on the present stance.

  I guess they realise that a lot of them are so confused by it all that they wanted to explain it again and to get some more of them to actually fill in the latest blood card and a living will document.

  Since I am still a JW I had the misfortune of attending the meeting where this was discussed.... and it was so stupid.

  "there are some cell salvage machines that are primed with whole blood" "some dialysis machines actually pause for a second or 2 before diverting blood back into your body so maybe that pause is too long for your conscience"

  And there were many, MANY more stupid comments such as that. Why cant anybody see thru this... counting how long a pause is for pete's sake! The speaker also made sure to comment that we still can't donate blood. So how can we be using the medicine made from it if we dont contribute to it???! Makes no sense.

  The blood part on the service meeting this week is powerful. Did anybody else get the idea they might be trying to promote "personal conscience decision" as a concept relating to blood medical treatment? They're 1mm from making the whole blood treatment issue a personal decision same as blood fractions, in my opinion. I been wrong so many times, I'm probably wrong this time and it might reverse or it might take 10 years for the other shoe to drop. I doubt it.

  The Society used to have special meeting sections telling the Witness people that they couldn't take blood, not they have special meeting parts telling the Witness people that they can take blood and even provide forms so the Witness people can put those desired blood products in writing. The blood form actually reminded me of a grocery list.

  I thought this was the most obvious BS on earth, my wife thinks its great. It goes SO FAR beyond what the bible says. Pisses me off.

  Jehovah's Witnesses DO NOT accept blood transfusions, but they can/may/might accept bits of blood.

  So when does blood STOP being blood?

  It all comes from the same thing....someone's blood and from their veins. And now they can take it if they can subdue their conscience and take being judged as spiritually weak by their JW peers!

  Knowing how harsh JWs are in judging eachother you can understand why some might choose to bleed to death instead of the slow death administered by their fellow bOrg members!

  I still can't figure out why you absolutely can't take blood COMPONENTS while taking blood FRACTIONS is OK.

  The KM argument is that SINCE the bible doesn't say anything about "blood fractions" THEREFORE it is a conscience matter.

  BUT, does the Bible say anything about BLOOD COMPONENTS? The Bible writers didn't know anything about blood components. Blood was simply blood.

  My prediction is that this is an intermediate step in the "new light" gimmick/process.

  In another year or two they will say you CAN take blood components. Only whole blood will be forbidden because that's the only blood the Bible writers understood.

  By then they are hoping that either Armageddon will come or that science will have come up with a good synthetic product.
