My Aunt just died, the last one in my dad's family still alive. She was 89 years old and a special pioneer untill she became too ill to keep up her time.

    What's next?

That's always a strange feeling when the last of your family line on your parents' side has gone.

Reflect on the good in your life Ken. Like those beautiful grandkids and all of the joy they bring you and your wife.

It's very hard when people we've known pass away, but when they have lived their life to the fullest age-wise really that's a gift that we all wish we will have for ourselves and our loved ones.

Take care of yourself Ken; I know this has been a very rough year for you. Keep us updated w/your young grandson.

    Hugs,

    Juni

It's hard for us to see that generation dying off. By that I mean, the generation before ours.

    It means we are next.

My mother and one aunt are still alive on my side. On Dave's, they are all gone.

I feel for you. So sorry! She sure lived a long life though.

    Dear Undecided,

It's sad to lose any family member, and I'm sorry for your loss. I was reminded of my great aunt, who would be 106 if still alive. She was very quiet and unassuming but did so much for our family, uncomplainingly. My older, surviving family are mostly my mother's first cousins and her siblings. It's scary, becoming next in line, generation-wise. The years just keep adding up and adding up and....

    Yours truly,

    CoCo

For some reason, having a generation older than me (aunts, uncles, parents, etc.) still alive makes me feel protected. I will feel a strange vulnerability when all of them pass on.

my heart goes out to you....i will always admire her faith, even if it may have been misplaced. she was quite a hoot to work out in field service with. i was with her once when she put her service bag down to read a scripture and a dog peed on it! she never knew until we told her! the friends really were good to her 'til the end.she will be missed.
