What Does "New Light" Really Mean?

I understand how the WTS uses the term "New Light" as a rationalization to explain the mistakes that they are constantly making. Can anyone explain to me what this phrase really means? I don't like studying the bible very much. Thanks.

They are twisitng the scripture where it says the light gets brighter. That's about it.
