No. I don't know enough about computers; i'd mess up somewhere and i'd go poof! I'll stay the way I am thank you.

Not a chance, that would mean I didn't get to "live any way I want". I wouldn't give up physical pleasures, even something as little as being touched by another person. That's one of the many reasons the idea of "Heaven" never really appealed to me either.
i would only do it if misanthropic gave up her body....

Could you still use your hard drive? hahahaha, or if you didn't have enough memory could you? Hello I don't want to be outdated in 3-6 months. No, don't mind tickling the keys but wouldn't want to live as one unless I am a laptop. Even there I would have to be very choosy who my owner is.
I dont understand your question. How can you live in a computer. You can spend your life in front of one, like others sit in front of the television, but you can not get into the computer. Are you asking a rhetorical question?
If you could figure out how to live without your body, then you'd have something. You'd be like the Gods.
You guys need to go out and rent Tron or The Matrix
If virtual reality felt as real as reality.. maybe.. unless you could still get sick (virus?) It would be kinda like living on the holo deck in star trek, it would all look and feel real, but YOU would know it wasn't. I'm not sure I could get past that.
If it was like The Matrix.. maybe if I didn't know it wasn't reality... there is a good example of the virtual being much easier to live in than the real.
What was it Cypher said? Something along the lines of "Ignorance is bliss, plug me back in"

I think Arthur C Clarke wrote a story that included ideas about this - I believe called The Lion of Comarre
And of course there was the Matrix. Some people prefered the created world of the Matrix rather than grim reality.
I think if I could escape into a world like the Matrix, indistinguishable from reality, and have a measure of control then I would certainly consider it.
Ideally I'd like to be able to go into such a world for short periods, like a holiday, to experience something I couldn't do in real life. I like the idea of the Holodeck in Star Trek for that.
I couldn't do it....................I think the computer would crash.
Personly I think this is the next evolutionary step for man. This maybe the only way we get to other star system tranfering our conscience or soul into a machine. then out live the journey in the machine. Asuming we don't just decide our artificial universe is better.
