I saw part of the show, the last half. It was interesting how they brought out that the early Christians had no central control and met in small groups in homes. They also didn't have titles or positions. The passing of the bread and wine was part of meals and certainly not a yearly celebration.
Then they talked a little about how the books of the bible were chosen. They said if someone wanted to keep a sacred writing from getting into circulation, they just prevented it from being copied. Who knows how many writings of that time are just lost, that could maybe help fill in some details for us. They also went into how the organized church history started.
They are showing another show about early Christianity tonight at 7 pm central time-check your listings. And they are supposed to repeat the first one, but I don't know when.
