Lessons From Other Totalitarians

Thinking of DA'ing yourself? or getting DF'd for "causing division" or "apostasy"?

You might want to use a trick Witnesses used against the Nazi's ( a group of fanatics they learned a lot from).

Send out brief, well written letters across across your congregation or circuit, in a random fashion. Why random?

Because if the elders get involved in investigating, they may think that nearly everyone got your letter, but for some reason,

they're holding back due to some hidden lack of loyalty. German Witnesses would distribute tracts to some doors in a building but not

all ,causing the Gestapo to think everyone got one but was hiding it.

Here's another observation from non-Witness totalitarians. Communism had one glaring failure, decade after decade - they couldn't

grow enough food using collectivized methods. They either starved or imported grain for many years - and offered every imagined excuse

why this failure went on without ceasing.

Now, what glaring Watchtower failure has gone on for decades and never been fixed, amidst endless excuses?

The loss of Witness kids! The overwhelming loss of Witness kids, out of the "truth" continues - and gets worse, if anything,

without letup. It is the most consistently glaring failure of the organization I can think of - and they must "import" more converts

    to fill the gap, endlessly.

Other observations derived from dictatorships? The way organizational achievements appear - driven by individuals later expelled

as "disloyal" ( The Aid book by Ray Franz, the conversion of printing away from letterpress by guys who later turned "apostate" )

You might have your own totalitarian observations about the "truth" - and its weaknesses.

A totalitarian regime must appear invulnerable, or fail. Were we in the West surprised that the USSR collapsed so quickly and completely? I was! The berlin wall, gone! Communism, decimated!

All it took was one man, Gorbachev. He quietly rose through the ranks. When he had the power to do so, he made the tough decision. Let the house of cards fall. Once in a while I dream there is a Gorbachev in the WTBTS. Quietly waiting his turn to act.

Another favored totalitarianism-killer of mine is Juan Carlos. Note he brought in democratic reforms without fanfare or civil unrest.

    Dear Metatron,

The "little guy": Caspar Milquetoast finds his voice, the little boy in PAY IT FORWARD, who plucks up his courage to defend his taunted friend, Rosa Parks, the un-named girl whose faith in God's prophet leads to Naaman's healing....

We here who have lost much, if not everything, but are finding our voice:

"I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility against every form

of tyranny over the mind of man." -- Thomas Jefferson

I would like to see that, too...

Unfortunately, they got rid of all the "Gorbachevs" in the early 80's....
