I've been lurking for 2 months. Acually, this is my first experience with posting ect. So don't expect too much. Anyway I've been out 25 years,shunned,and my "normal" relatives are the same just different! I think it has something to do with not fitting in but still wanting to be "in" or special. Any way it gave me an anxiety disorder, or it's genentic. Depends on your faith, God or science. I always like to hedge my hopes. I really love this place cause I can relate to so much.

Good to have you here - looking forward to more of your thoughts. Funnily enough I think my first ever post was entitled 'I'm new here - sort of..' I too lurked for a couple of months before venturing onto the board properly - I am so glad that I did - it has been a constant help for me, always a place of support when I need it, or a source of laughter on those days when things just get a little bit too much. I greatly value this place and most of the people on it. You are certainly in the right place to talk about shunning.... know that feeling very well, a very unChristianlike practice - proved to me once and for all when I da'd that I had made the right decision.

Want to welcome you to the board too. Glad you felt like joining in. I lurked too(looking over hubby's shoulder) before I posted...now they can't GET me to shut up!
