    Hey,

Ok... ever since downloading the latest Internet Explorer version 7,..I've had an annoying problem

If I go up to the address bar (where you type in the web address)...

I can highlight it (with my curser) but if I go down to File and try to Copy it - it doesn't copy.

Sometimes I want to cut and paste an address. The older version of Explorer used to let me do that.

My "backdoor" is that I can go to File - Send - Link by Email and then it goes to my email program so I can cut and paste there.

    Just annoying.

Anyone know? Maybe I have something "unchecked"?

Maybe they dont have all of the bugs out of it yet. My job advised me not to download it at this time. It is not compatible with the state of Florida. Probably after its been out for a while they will get the bugs out of it.

What do you mean by "File". It just takes a right mouse klick to get "Copy" from the context menu, does it not? BTW, I installed IE7 at my office computer and was kindly asked by the IT department to deinstall it for compatibility issues. At home like now I use Opera 9.1.

IE7 didn't install properly on my works computer and all the Windows files got corrupted - it even took the firewall out.

I think you're best using GermanXJW's way to copy links, certainly the easiest way anyhoo.

    German...

    That works.

    Thanks.

It was just that in the old days, I would just highlight it and instead of rigth clicking - i would go down to the menu - hit File and because it was highlighted - Copy would be lit up.

Not it doesn't light up anymore.

But you took care of the problem.

    Thanks!

IE7 has a slightly annoying feature where by default you have to press ALT to display the main menu. If you click off it it autohides. I think I'm right in assuming this is the problem you came across.
If you want to display the file menu permanently right click on the empty space to the right of the browser tabs and choose Main Menu. The problem then is the wasted space to the right of the menu. What I did was drag my Links Bar to the right of the main menu and then locked the toolbars.

To be honest I'm not too enamoured with IE7 and only use it for this forum. For everything else I use Opera 9.1

We downloaded IE7 the other day and we've had a bunch of problems since. I'm not surprized.

My son had a friend that worked for Microsoft. He quit when he got tired of hearing something on the order of "I don't care if will take three weeks to debug it, the press release said if would be out Thursday."
