are you guys just slacking when it comes to posting info, or is there no other BOE letters coming down from the WTS? i think the last one was the june one on PORN. come on, we need letters, scans, elders meeting notes, kms notes, etc. me btw, would you get DF'ed for celebrating a birthday, or just a stern talkin' to? there is no way the WTS can say the bible strictly forbids birthdays, can they?

No the bible doesn't the GB does. Thats all they care about. I was dragged in the back to talk with some elders I proved using both the bible and past publications to prove my point but the GB says it's this way so it so.

Does it matter if you get DF'd

1 Cor 4:3-6 3 As for me, it matters very little how I might be evaluated by you or by any human authority. I don’t even trust my own judgment on this point. 4 My conscience is clear, but that doesn’t prove I’m right. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide. 5 So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time—before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due.

The only judgement or Person(s) that I care about are the Ones who have the last say, other than that would you take serious what a pile of dust says to you? We are not even suppose to judge ourselves yet alone someone else.

I asked an Elder that a little over a year ago, about bdays. He said the bible doesnt say you cant, but you know what his advice was? Why pick one day out of the year, wouldnt giving someone a gift for no reason mean more to them?

Ok, what ever. Then why not do both??

If you are at the top, there is always a way to get around things

I know one elder and his family who came up with a way around Christmas. It turns out that the elder and his wife were married about that time. So, guess what? The family goes out and buys presents, just like other folks, and voila!, they just happen to exchange presents and celebrate their "wedding anniversary." I also know an elder who used the excuse of a visit of his Daughter's in-laws to throw a perfectly good new year's eve party, complete with the booze! Of course, they really weren't having a new year's party! Yeah, sure.
