I remember hearing a talk about invitro infertilization being viewed as adultery. Did the dubs change their stance?

    WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?

The Bible, of course, makes no direct comments on modern-day assisted reproductive procedures. It does, however, enable us to know God’s view on certain key issues. And knowing the answers to two basic questions can guide true Christians in making decisions that are pleasing to God.

When does human life begin? The Bible indicates that life begins at conception. Note the words of the psalmist David, who was inspired to say of God: “Your eyes saw even the embryo of me, and in your book all its parts were down in writing.” ( Psalm 139:16 ) Consider also Exodus 21:22, 23 , where the original-language text indicates that a person would be held accountable for injury to an unborn child. The lesson to be learned is that our Creator views life as precious, even during the very early stages of development in the womb. In God’s eyes the willful destruction of an embryo would be viewed as abortion.%

Are there any restrictions as to how one’s reproductive powers may be used? God’s view can be found at Leviticus 18:20 , which says: “You must not give your emission as semen to the wife of your associate to become unclean by it.” The underlying principle in that Scriptural decree is this: A man’s semen should not be used to inseminate anyone other than his wife, and a woman should not bear a child for someone other than her own husband. In other words, the reproductive powers are not to be used for someone other than one’s marriage mate. True Christians, therefore, avoid surrogate motherhood as well as any procedures that involve the use of donated sperm, eggs, or embryos.^

When making a decision involving assisted reproduction, true Christians must weigh carefully what the Bible reveals about God’s thinking.** After all, he is the Originator of marriage and family life.— Ephesians 3:14, 15 .

My wife and considered surrogates for a child, my sister-in-law even volunteered- but had to have an emergency hysterectomy. I don't think any of us would have let wts have any control over any of us. My sister-inl-aw is not a jw.

That's good to know Lighthouse. In the bible, I remember God letting Abraham have a surrogate because his wife was unable to have children. The Watchtower uses scriptures to support their cause. They don't care about the needs of their followers. They (the Watchtower) just want to make sure nothing slows the followers down from delivering the magazines.

I hope everything works out for you!

I thought they said that artificial insemination was adultery if the sperm was from a donor other than the husband. Invitro isn't necessarily done with outside donors. I recall them saying it was wrong because embryos might be harmed in the process or even die.

Human reproduction, 6.5 billion people notwithstanding, is a miracle in that it happens AT ALL!

To say that even the stars and moon need to align properly to make even just one baby would not

be farfetched. In the process, countless embryos are made and countless are discarded naturally

through "miscarriage" or spontaneous abortion. Overwhelmingly this process occurs at a stage

of embryonic development so early that many women do not even notice that what occurred was a

"miscarraige" So to object to invitro on the grounds that innocent embryos may be harmed is really a

straw argument, because embyros are "harmed" all the time through the natural process. Just more WTS control.

No invitro unless it is your own egg / sperm - no vasectomy and no tube tying. And don't have kids.

Another, even more important reason for thinking twice about the operation is the clear indication in the Bible that God does not approve of the mutilation of reproductive powers.

So, I guess, no sex, right?

Wasn't Mary a surrogate mother for Jesus?

Is Mary guilty of adultery? Is God guilty of fornication?

God and Michael Jackson used the same impregnation methods :) They did it without ever once touching the woman.
