Is everyone familiar with Dr. Hugh Ross and his organization Reasons To Believe? I have learned much from this ministry.

Hugh Ross is a trained scientist and pastor who specialises in marrying the Bible with Science (both of which are records of truth). He has an MSc and PhD in astronomy and was a post-doctoral fellow with the California Institute of Technology

Reasons to Believe does not have a denominational affiliation but believes in the inerrancy of scripture. It provides research and teaching on the harmony of God's revelation in the Bible and in the facts of nature. They produce a quarterly magazine called "Facts for Faith" and host a weekly radio ministry.

Leading progressive creationist Hugh Ross and his fellow progressive creationist,

along with other Pre-Adamite proponents, are trying to rescue the Bible from a

perceived conflict with 'science' by reinterpreting the Bible rather than by questioning the

    science.

Could there have been human creatures, commonly called pre-adamite, living on earth before

God created Adam? Many believers will think this a foolish question, but it is in fact the belief of

many evangelicals. H. Ross teaches something similar when he says that "bipedal tool-using large

brained primates roamed earth for 100's or thousands (perhaps a million) years.

I thought this was very interesting. Why did they become extinct?

Ross said" the world was a place of death, violence and decay for 100's of thousands/millions

of years before the curse recorded in Gen:3:14-19. He make the extraordinary statement; "The

step-by-step approach to bipedal primate creation that we can see in the recent fossil record may

reasonably reflect God's understanding of the difficulty other life-forms would encounter in

adapting to sinful humans"....... God still didn't know how things would turn out.LOL

My question to believers here, do you know of any ministers that believe in the Pre-Adamites??

marrying the Bible with Science (both of which are records of truth)

Your quote or his? Either way you cant just say something is a record of truth and expect people to fall for it.

Right there I lost my interest. I thought this thread was about the God that is in harmony with science... The God interpreted by people living in antiquity belongs there, in antiquity.

I haven't read any of his books, but I've heard him many times as a guest on a radio show I used to listen to. He comes across as disingenuous to me in that he pretends to be going where the evidence leads, however listening to him for just a few minutes shows that he does some impressive mental gymnastics to make sure the evidence leads to the conclusion he's already reached.

For someone pretending to be a sophisticated scientist, he falls back on some ridiculous arguments based on extremely questionable data and atrocious logic to the point that it's very difficult to believe he really thinks this way. I can't think of any specific examples, but it's on a par with someone who received a PhD in Biology saying, "Oh yeah? If we evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys? Chessmate evolutionists!"

I've also spoken with Dr. "Fuz" Rana, who is a member of the RTB staff and the resident evolution-denier. He was talking on the radio show about a new finding regarding Neanterthals and Denisovans, and he just outright lied about the contents of the article he was quoting, which I had read.

I like this guy, he is good. He said that Adam was the first Jew and the father of the Jews,

but not the father of mankind. He also argued that Eve was not the first woman, but

    the first Jewish woman.

I have said this before, Adam was the first spiritual man that may make sense..

I don't think you know what "sense" means.

Re: Adam as the first Jew.... Like I said, mental gymnastics. Ross wants you to believe that Genesis is literal history, as long as you don't take it literally.
