"I am The Decision-Maker"

This is a direct quote from President George Bush. I guess he forgets who he's working for, and who pays his salary. In the following article it can be seen how President Bush feels he is the Supreme Decision Maker and the one vote for the way the country is run. He has the lowest approval rating since Nixon. Doesn't that say something? It seems that no matter how much we write to our Congresspeople, they can't get the job done. We, the people, need to get this stopped. It seems that America is poising to attack Iran? How much more of a burden can the American people stand with a President gone power crazy? We've put several billion into Iraq, and we still have kids and families starving at home; we still have the worst education system in teh world.. what's wrong with this man?

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush, on a collision course with Congress over Iraq, said Friday "I'm the decision-maker" about sending more troops to the war. He challenged skeptical lawmakers not to prematurely condemn his buildup.

"I've picked the plan that I think is most likely to succeed," Bush said in an Oval Office meeting with senior military advisers.

The president had strong words for lawmakers on both sides of the aisle who are lining up to support resolutions opposing his decision to send 21,500 troops to Iraq. He challenged them to put up their own ideas.

"I know there is skepticism and pessimism and that some are condemning a plan before it's even had a chance to work," the president said. "They have an obligation and a serious responsibility therefore to put up their own plan as to what would work."

Despite doubts in Congress and among the public about his strategy, Bush said lawmakers agree that failure in Iraq would be a disaster and that he chose a strategy that he and his advisers thought would help turn the tide in Iraq.

The president met with Army Lt. Gen. David Petraeus, newly confirmed by the Senate to command U.S. troops in Iraq. (Full story)

"My instruction to him was `Get over to the zone as quickly as possible, and implement a plan that will achieve our goals,"' Bush said. ('Warrior-scholar' to be top commander in Iraq)

"You're going into an important battle in the war on terror," he told Petraeus.

During a photo opportunity, Bush was asked about stepped-up activities in Iraq against Iranian activities thought to be fueling the violence.

Bush defended the policy, but said it is no indication that the United States intends to expand the confrontation beyond Iraq's borders.

"That's a presumption that's simply not accurate," Bush said.

But added: "Our policy is going to be to protect our troops. It makes sense."

Bush also said he was confident that the dispute over Iran's nuclear program could be resolved diplomatically.

On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, Mohamed ElBaradei, the head of the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency, said Friday that Iran expects to start installing thousands of centrifuges in an underground facility next month. He said the installation would pave the way to large-scale uranium enrichment, a potential means of making nuclear weapons.

"I understand that they are going to announce that they are going to build up their 3,000-centrifuge facility ... sometime next month," ElBaradei said.

Meanwhile, Bush also called Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to thank her for her support in the global war on terror. The president commended Arroyo for actions against the al Qaeda-linked group, Abu Sayyaf. Philippine officials say DNA test results have confirmed that the leader of the group was killed in a clash with Philippine troops in September, officials said Saturday.

    Dear Mr. President
Come take a walk with me
Let's pretend we're just two people and
    You're not better than me
I'd like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly

What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street
Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep
What do you feel when you look in the mirror
    Are you proud

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye
How do you walk with your head held high
Can you even look me in the eye
    And tell me why

    Dear Mr. President
    Were you a lonely boy
    Are you a lonely boy
    Are you a lonely boy
    How can you say
    No child is left behind
We're not dumb and we're not blind
They're all sitting in your cells
While you pay the road to hell

What kind of father would take his own daughter's rights away
And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay
I can only imagine what the first lady has to say
You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye
How do you walk with your head held high
Can you even look me in the eye

Let me tell you bout hard work
Minimum wage with a baby on the way
Let me tell you bout hard work
Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away
Let me tell you bout hard work
Building a bed out of a cardboard box
Let me tell you bout hard work
    Hard work
    Hard work
You don't know nothing bout hard work
    Hard work
    Hard work
    Oh

How do you sleep at night
How do you walk with your head held high
    Dear Mr. President
You'd never take a walk with me
    Would you

I thought he said he was the uniter this time around . Now that's funny since nobody supports anything he does. When asked if he even cared what america thought of him he flat out said he didn't care what the opinion polls said. Apparently he has the deluded audacity to believe the problem is everybody else but him. He went from the decider to the sanctifier now he is the uniter. I got a kick out of Dick Chenney last night on jon stewart , he claims to actually love his gay daughter but refuses to get involved with the equal rights of gays and lesbians to get married. These people are just plain sick , paranoid and psychotic.

I'm no fan of GW Bush, and so nothing said here is meant to support his war policy.

However he is the elected commander-in-chief, and he's supposed to make decisions to lead the country rather than just follow opinion polls. The prevailing opinions in the 1860's may have indicated that Abe Lincoln should have not emancipated the slaves. The prevailing opinions in the 1960's may have been that Lyndon Johnson should not have signed historic civil rights laws.

In the 2004 election, America fumbled the chance to select a different commander-in-chief, one who was more intent on getting American forces out of Iraq sooner.

The only way that Bush's surge could be halted is if the Congress voted to dry up funds for the war. However, that would likely be counterproductive (for many reasons).

Yes George, you're the decision maker. But you won't be in 2 years.

At least it didn't cost a billion dollars a day in a region of the world that has always been turbulent . The only way they have ever changed leadership is with civil war and not elections . Maybe we need that same spirit in this country . The neo con globalists are ruining it for everybody . I like what mike wallace said on stephen colbert , we don't even have to impeach we can remove him from power deeming GW unfit for commander and cheif.
