I was watching one of my movies on google video and one of the reporter ask a marine a question and he answers verbatum Jokers lines from Full Metal Jacket.
Marine :I wanted to see exotic Iraq ... the crown jewel of Middle East Asia. I wanted to meet interesting and stimulating people of an ancient culture... and kill them. I wanted to be the first kid on my block to get a confirmed kill!
Needlesss to say I almost didnt't recover from the fall and the laughter that followed.
Full Metal Jacket was one of the stupidest movies ever made. Eyes wide shut was worse. It takes talent of a sort to make sex boring.
Funny G.I.'s love it mainly for the bootcamp scenes. My dad and uncle both said that how bootcamp is. I quess it brings back fond memories.
Yeah I mean only R Lee Ermy can take a golf ball and a garden hose and make it funny. God I love the first scene.

Stanley Kubrick is my favorite director. FMJ is just an incredibly quotable movie. Apocalypse Now is also good for a dose of war insanity.
