Not entirely sure if this outfit is an 'arm' of the Society so I thought I'd post details here and ask for your help in digging this one out.

The first set of details didn't seem to trigger much (although I wondered about the first line of the address Russell Bedford House and why an investment company would be interested in data classes that include: Current marriage or partnership, Court, tribunal, inquiry proceedings (judicial?))

Well anyway, heres the first page:

So just who are Watchtower Investments Limited?

It has nothing to do with the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society; the name "Watchtower" in no way is allowed to be used by the Witnesses only, there are scores of firms and organizations calling themselves Watchtower-something. If you check up Bible groups, you will even find some New World societies and -organizations, and also a Bible translations group, neither of which have anything to do with the WB&TS.

True enough Hippie but these are the only two entries to be found for 'watchtower' via the UK governments official Data Protection Search Form - try it for yourself here . http://www.dpr.gov.uk/search.html

Or are 'the' Watchtower not registered under the UK Data Protection Act?

Also, look closely at the sorts of people this investment company is interested in:

    Data subjects are:

Staff including volunteers, agents, temporary and casual workers
Relatives, guardians and associates of the data subject

Why? What possible financial reward can be reaped from this type of individual?

  • TheOldHippie

But, my friend, if you search for WATCH TOWER in stead of WATCHTOWER, there you have it!
So, as I said, Watchtowers are plenty, but there is only ONE Watch Tower.
