  how was the meeting you had with your sister and the elders?

  HI youguys! Thanks for caring.

  I could not be present at the meeting because a few nights before the meeting my sister found out I was going to another church and so in her eyes I "disassociated."

  My mom went, along with another former witness who left about 6 years ago and took 15 members of his family with him!

  The meeting went excellent. Actually, we couldn't catch the elder in a lie because he DID NOT LIE. He actually said, "You are right. The organization is having a problem with pedophilia." -- or something like that. My mom gave him the newspaper articles and the one copy of the BOE letter from Brittain and some info from Silentlambs.org. Unfortunatley, they didn't have any copies of letters from USA which this elder would have been aware of. But my mom lied and said they were coming in the mail and he said he wanted to see them.

  The whole time my sister kept looking down. She was obviously hearing something she was not aware of. The elder was not your typical JW elder. He was actually very nice and humble. He said the society is informing elders to protect the congregation. This made my mom a little mad and she told him, "I hope you protect the CHILDREN before you protect the CONGREGATION." He agreed.

  Afterwards, they talked about some of the teachings particular only to JW's and the former witness showed how these teachings were not scriptural. My sister and the elder dug through their bibles and could not find support for these teachings. (too much to get into) The bottom line was that they said, "We have to do research and get back to you." But they were very obviously worried. The meeting lasted for 2.5 hours and the whole time my sister and the elder were BEING taught rather than being the teachers.

  So now we have to get a hold of the copies of the US letters. I thought it was interesting that the society is warning elders of the pedophile problems. But they are making it sound like "human error" in handling the cases. This elder actually believes that the problems arose due to elder errors. He took the information printed off of Silentlambs and promised to read it. He's in for THE SHOCK OF HIS LIFE!

  We are happy because if this elder comes out he will for sure take my sister with him. She looks up to him like he was Christ himself.

  Part 2 is coming up. I really need those copies of those letters if anyone can get them for me.
