If you were to ask almost any JW about the history of the movement, how it got started they might talk about how they are true Christians just like in the times of Jesus. They might say they are of course the only true Christians. They might also tell you they are the only people on earth who use the name of God.
If you probe a bit more and ask them about the history over the last 100 years they might spout out a bit about Russell and Rutherford but they really don't know much about either of them. Beyond that they just shrug off further questions as being not important enough to bother knowing.
Now wait a minute here.
Most JWs have scriptures from both the Hebrew and Greek scriptures or as the rest of the world calls then the Old and New Testaments. History of 2000 years ago is far more important to them then history of even 25 years ago never mind 100 years ago.
Isn't there a flaw here? Another we-will-pick-and-choose-what-we-will-believe and that applies even more so to God's only mounthpiece on earth these days.
I think I will ask this of the next JW I meet
