The Society must be beside themself today with damage control.
If he ever gets disfellowshipped he'll be "the brother formerly known as Prince".
Okay, correct me if I'm wrong. I thought Jehovah's Witnesses did not believe in luck, but the article says purple is Prince's good luck color:
"At first, she suggested that we cover everything in something purple (Prince's good-luck color)," Bourgade said. "That would have been no problem. But she called back a day later to say that even covered, Prince would know the dragons are all around him."
He is quite the freak, although I was quite a fan of his years ago.
"The brother formerly known as Prince." Good one!
I have to say that Prince right now is one of the best guitar players alive. (not that ever lived) but I doubt that if he truly is a dub the elders in his hall (at least the ones with sticks up there asses) aren't to pleased with him all wanting to be friends with the world and all that. He may need counseling.
A Jehovah's Witness I know once said this type of thing is tough, when someone famous becomes a Jehovah's Witness after they are already a star. Because this is his means of living, and he can't be expected to stop doing his "job".
Well why can't he? I've known people who were police officers but after converting had to give that up because they are not allowed to carry firearms. Why is Prince any different?
He can clean houses just like the rest of them.

Why would he become a JW?
I can't speak for Prince, but in my experience, extended time in the jw has a negative effect on one's connection with reality. I've been out for five years now, and I still see way too many things through puke-colored glasses. I'm finally able to see a nice person as a nice person and a good deed as a good deed without having to qualify the "heathen" behind the act. I think it must be even harder for someone with the money and ability to travel wherever he wants to and to meet all manner of people.
