I was just talking with a Witness coworker. I showed him the 1995 WT quote on Matthew 24:14. Of course he has a rationale for it. Then he starts telling me that all the apostates and inactive hated that talk because they know it will soon be too late for them. Oh if he only knew...... None of us care about whether WT thinks our end is near.

Do Not Call
Speak for yourself! I'm hiding under my bed right now, terrified!!
(How do they know how we feel anyway? They never talk to us to find out)

they know it will soon be too late for them.
Matt 7:1,2 not to judge our fellow man.
I for one do believe that the end is coming but so do many other religious people from different denonminations, not just JW see the world falling apart and can tell the scriptures point to our time as being a marked generation as I use that term loosely. Just because a person no longer believes the witness mentalilty doesn't mean that they dont believe in an end as foretold by Chirst and the apostles not the organization.
But it is never a human's right to call who gets life and who doesn't. I believe our Lord is more capable than us in deciding a persons love and eternity.

My grandfather who died in his 80's back in the 70's was very upset with my mother for introducing us to the watchtower. In 1973 when we would try to fire him up about 1975, he said those people had been fortelling the end of the world all his life. It was a bigger world back then. It wasn't yet the comunication age. I thought he was just making that up. And at 20 years of age in 1973 I didnt have the wherewithall to research his claims. Fortunately for me, Jan 1, 1976 wasnt far off. The Watchtower society is made up of a bunch of doomsday phrophets who phrophecy falsely. Enjoy your life. You get one day at a time. Your a million times more likely to die of old age or get hit by a car or some disease than you are to die at armegeddon. You probably have a million times better chance to win the lottery than to die at armegeddon. And that's without even buying a lottery ticket.

Then he starts telling me that all the apostates and inactive hated that talk
I'd have asked him how all the apostates and inactive ones heard it. The fact they fit into either of those categories usually means they aren't attending jw meetings anyway, so they wouldn't be in a position to hear it.

From what I know goes on in in the congregations, not all, of course, he better be worrying about his butt, not mine.
Did you share a thought from the Bible: 'Each one will carry HIS OWN load'? How about 'Judge not, lest ye be judged'? What about 'Jehovah is the reader of hearts'? I almost forgot ' take the rafter out of YOUR OWN eye'.

How can they be sure that the JWs are not themselves one of the many false prophets predicted to be active before the second coming of Christ? Their record shows them to be just that. They are too money minded and grossly lack real brotherly love.
