Honesty
No.
They did share their faith in Jesus with others, though.

However, with reference to brotherly love, YOU do not need us to be writing YOU, for YOU yourselves are taught by God to love one another; 10 and, in fact, YOU are doing it to all the brothers in all of Mac·e·do´ni·a. But we exhort YOU, brothers, to go on doing it in fuller measure, 11 and to make it YOUR aim to live quietly and to mind YOUR own business and work with YOUR hands, just as we ordered YOU; 12 so that YOU may be walking decently as regards people outside and not be needing anything. -

If by preach you mean working as an unpaid sales representative for a large American multi-level marketing book printing company, the answer would be no. If you mean discussing their belief in Jesus Christ with the people they met in their day to day life, the answer would be yes.

"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? But eagerly desire the greater gifts" (1 Corinthians 12:27-31).

No, they did not according to the two following scriptures:
I Corinthians 12: 27-31: Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. But eagerly desire the greater gifts.
Ephesians 4:11: And he gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelizers, some as shepherds and teachers
The first century congregation must have realized early on that not everyone was equiped for preaching and they apparently used various ones according to whatever gifts they posessed. The WTS today certainly does not teach that all Witnesses are shepherds, elders, MS's, etc. In fact, percentage wise, very few are. That is conveniently forgotten though when they read this, because this scripture goes directly against what they teach: that everyone must be an evangelizer.
Another lie disguised as 'truth'.

No, in the early church there were a number of functions and preaching was one of them so some were preaching the gospel systematically. The rest preached the gospel through their christian lifestyle and I suppose also if someone interested asked them information about their faith. However after the roman persecutions started everyone had to keep a low profile so as not to end up in the arenas before the ferocious beasts.

There is no evidence in the Bible that shows Jesus expected everyone to do some kind of formal preaching. He often told ones who were healed to go their way in peace because their faith had made them well. He didn't put any requirements on them. The scriptures show that some were sent out to preach, but it was never a requirement. Many spoke out of appreciation when they chose to.

"How, in turn, will they hear without someone to preach? How, in turn, will they preach unless they have been sent forth? Just as it is written: 'How comely are the feet of those who declare good news of good things." Romans 10:14-15
