I just realized it's a little funny to have John Lennon and Marilyn Manson on the same disc. Eh, both songs are social commentary with different beats.

I gave my parents some CDs similar to yours, to share what I was going through. That was over a year ago. No comments made yet.

She was offended by some of the strong language, thought it applied to her. Such as the song "Only" where Reznor sings "There is no fucking you, there is only me." She thought I meant that line to apply to her when it really applies to god.

Dad didn't listen.

I'm amazed your mom listened. Never ceases to surprise me the difference from one JW family to the next. In our house we couldn't (well, I couldn't) listen to music with words unless someone recorded it sometime in the 40s. hehe. My folks vetted Phil Collins before they let my brother listen to it. Never helped that my mom could rarely understand sung words, so always assumed they were singing something vile... (not to make light of your story, but it did crack me up thinking of the expression on mom's face if I handed her a cd with Perfect Circle on it and suggested she listen to it. :) )

Hello Maive. I will have to check your songs out. I am always looking for provacative music. I deffinitely am familiar with some of them the Lennon songs. I was wondering, how do you know the above line, " There is no fucking you, there is only me" applies to God? I havent listened to the song yet or read about Trent Raznor. But most song writters that I have encountered make the songs ambigious and leave the interpretation to the listener.
