    Hello everyone,

    I’m sure you’ll find this one interesting :

    from this link:

    http://zamlii.zamnet.zm/courts/supreme/full/95scz25.htm

    The Supreme Court of Zimbabwe commented upon the importance of the freedom of expression as follows at page 288:---

    "Freedom of expression, one of the most precious of all the guaranteed freedoms, has four broad special purposes to serve:
    (i) it helps an individual to obtain self fulfillment;
    (ii) it assists in the discovery of truth;
    (iii) (iii) it strengthens the capacity of an individual to participate in decision making; and
    (iv) it provides a mechanism by which it would be possible to establish a reasonable balance between stability and social change."

    And also:

    Article 21 of the previous Constitution considered in the Kachasu's case reads:

    "(1) Except with his own consent, no person shall be hindered in the enjoyment of his freedom of conscience, and for the purposes of this section the said freedom includes freedom of thought and of religion, freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others, and both in publice and in private, to manifest and propagate his religion or belief in worship, teaching, practice and observance. "

    Can you imagine, in Zimbabwe there
    is a - legal - protection of individual rights!

    Food for thought...WTBS!
