Are the WTS a bunch of slackers or busy with other pursuits?

The New World Translation was written in 1961 and revised twice. The Song Book was written in 1984.The Watchtower Magazine only comes out twice a month. The Awake Magazine might even be dropped one day.It looks like not a whole lot of material is coming out of New York these days. What does this corporation do all month with its time that so little production comes out?

Do you think that the WTS are so occupied with lawsuits, real estate deals, wills and estates, and construction of new Kingdom Halls that the ''Spiritual Food'' has been declining? Do you think that the writing of less material been noticed by the rank and file?

The faithful see nothing, as far as other pursuits, it is business. It is always about the benjamins, the bottom line, that is what keeps the wheels rolling.

I know what you are saying. These 10 men in Brooklyn meet and discuss what????
All the different rules have been ironed out, people refer to GOD'S WORD the WT mags
in the past for doctrinal questions.
The new books written each year are rehashes of old books. Really just one small book
each year, now- and maybe a brochure. Expect very little at the convention in 2007. The
biggest possible bombshell of literature they might be thinking about would be a new updated
REASONING book- but only if they sold gave out all the old hardcover ones. Or maybe something
about "The Christ." They could offer a brochure that shows that Christ was involved in a worldwide
preaching campaign, but he didn't carry any WT magazines- he got donations from people just for
offering them the miracles. Rank and file can offer those same miracles with tracts.
Revelation book is the study book AGAIN. They don't update their website or offer any real changes.
What are they really doing? SLACKERS.

When Knorr was president and F. Franz was writing, it wasn't like this. Before that, it
wasn't like this either. They were telling their prophecies and expanding.

I think it's just part of the reduction in ranks and money. They don't know what to do.

I tend to view the WTs current activities as the "downsizing" phase of any big corporation. When I got started back in '91, they were still trying to expand and to reach out. The quality of the books had improved dramatically in recent years and they were trying to entice new members. Everyone was abuzz with the changes. Now, they are cutting back and hording their gold. That's just what businesses do. The pendulum always swings.

I believe the Society's overarching objecting is to keep the Witnesses as lifetime subscribers to whatever they want to print. With each new book (no matter how old and repetitive the content) the RF have to get the new edition for the next round of meetings that require it. So these lame-o updates are just a way of squeezing them for more cash. Note that the Society has started cutting down on the cost of producing the lit by making more of it as cheap paperbacks. Yet I best most Witnesses will try to keep their donations for that lit the same. That is what they call "profit."

Don't be surprised if a heap of new books start coming out in the next few years. Once the old stuff starts to dry up, they'll probably do that to pad out their wallets a little more to tide them over. Eventually, like all big businesses, the pendulum will probably swing the other way and they'll start reaching out and trying to expand yet again. Maybe not--a lot of us have been predicting that the end is near. But I for one am not counting on it.

    Too bad.

No one in the organization has the authority of Fred Franz. The GB argue over changes but with the

2/3 voting rule, nothing gets changed. In addition, the whole of Witness doctrine is an out of date

mess that no one bothers to adjust for consistency. Because of that, they keep everything simple

and superficial. It has to be that way, as their Great Apostasy took place in the aftermath of

Aid book research. Ray Franz couldn't justify 607 BCE or other nonsense.

If the Watchtower were a soap opera, the producer would be screaming at the Continuity Dept.

I wouldn't look for any new books of any import under these conditions.

The GB know for a certainty the great amount of horsesh** they inherited from Freddy and the Judge. They just don't want to do anything about it.

What can they do? The honest thing would be to apologize, admit to 1914 being contrived, admit the whole FDS doctrine is contrived. Maybe they

have considered it and at the end of the discussion all were agreed on what a fantasy it all was, but then the question: NOW WHAT DO WE DO?

None of them wants to give up anything. Hell, they all paid their dues on the factory floor, took crap as MS's and Elders, traveled around as CO's, then DO's.

They are at the TOP of the JW food chain, man! You think they're going to give that up 'cause it's the RIGHT thing to do? NO WAY! They only do what

benefits THEM. And changing doesn't benefit them.

Since the organization was founded and structured on self prophetic ignorance for so long now and they have re-hashed all those doctrines to the limit, what else can they say

now without tripping over themselves. Modern society is and has been advancing it's self over the decades since the start of the WTS., particularly in North America and Europe. Just think

about what the inter-net has done in regards to easy access of information, including info on the WTS. And since there is so much overwhelming bad things said about them on the net, this

has to play in part to what their writing and publishing. Maybe they're toning things down a little and making adjustments perhaps for what they deem necessary. For when they used to

state furmently that they were the only true religion on earth, now they can't so as much. It's a certainty that any interested person that is thinking of joining them is more than likely going to

search and read info about them on the net. Also their strength within the organization seems to be weakening and on a downward tread from what I'm seeing locally. But probably to their

own fault this is going on, due to their prolonged " this system will end soon " policy they have been hanging on to for so many years, it seems to me that they might have stepped on their own

    foot for doing so...................

They handpick their own replacements, finding company men only. The new guys learn to go along. They must have a program for
new GB members to see the importance of the status quo. Maybe they bring out the hidden video on Ray Franz and allow new
members to see what will happen if they don't "play ball." I imagine the oldest guys still are the head honchos.

What will they do when even these guys get too old or die off? They gotta find company men, probably among the other sheep, or
more guys crazy enough to say "I'm a replacement anointed." Hey, the crazy guys will work in this case. Watch them delay entrance
to the OS for another "generation." When you are 80, and you know the organization is in big trouble 15 to 20 years from now, do you
    really care?
