With the time for the next BBQ fast approaching, some lessons in 'pure language' may be helpful.
Today's lesson: Describing people you may meet at a bbq
1. dinky di.........really, true, honest
2. dinkum...........genuine
3. dipstick.........crazy, contemptible person
4. dishy............sexually attractive, glamorous
5. dag..............eccentric, scruffy person
6. dill.............idiot
7. dingaling........silly person
8. dingbat..........eccentric person
9. dingdong.........foolish person, noisy argument
10. dingo............contemptible person
So there is the first lesson in Strine for the coming bbq season.
I suggest you practice this at home so that you don't get caught out. After all, you don't want to call me a dill when you should have said dinki di!
Tomorrow's lesson: The 'Like' words
Cheers,
Ozzie
P.S. If you'd like to attend on Sunday October 21st, give me an e-mail to [email protected] and I'll be glad to send you details.
