In my area (Canada, British Columbia) I hear nothing but JWs planning a trip to Mexico or just returning from Mexico. This is driving me nuts. I overheard JWs talking about travel plans to Mexico and they kept reffering to the Hotel they were staying at as the "compound" . As soon as I heard the word "compound" I just knew that this must be some kind of JW compund or Mexico bethel JW compound. The JW are rather secretive when you ask them exactly where they stayed in Mexico but their general reply is that they stayed with witnesses they knew. Wierd huh??
What is this cult fascination about mexico as a travel destination?

it's a big travel destination for witnesses in my area too.
i figured they went cuz its supposed to be cheaper than USA. i dunno

They want people to move there as part of an English speaking group to pioneer where the need is greater. Cost of living cheaper, etc.

I think it's because of the way the alcohol flows so freely down there.
Plus you can't go to the meetings down there unless you speak spanish.
