Ray Franz and Ed Dunlap worked on the AId book. Both of these men later left the WTS because they could not stand WTS lies any longer.

Here is a scenario. Lets say an elder has to give a talk on sunday. The elder happens to be a mole and decides to research his talk using the "Aid" book. The elder gets up on stage packing that humongous Aid Book. The edler gives his talk all the while quoting from the Aid book. After the talk the elder will be taken aside to tell him that he is disfellowshipped

JW's (including elders) are not told about the Ray Franz incident. While many
might know, anyway, they are not told about how much input anybody had on
any particular book. They are instructed to be sure that their teaching points are
current. If the INSIGHT books contained the exact same material, the brothers would
probably say he needed to use them instead of AID. If AID is not referenced in
his talk (I'm sure it isn't), some sharp elder might pull him aside and explain why
    "we don't use that anymore."

It's possible that nobody will notice the problem.
When I became a JW, I wanted the AID book, but the cong. said it was no longer
in stock (1988-89 era) and there was no way to get it. Another cong. had a new one
in the cabinet and sold it to me. It was not supposed to be a shelf item, but a
special order item, yet it was there. I think that nobody takes them out of the library if they are
already there. Maybe it's different where you are.

Well - the Aid book is a big book with no pictures so it is only of use to people who are able to read.

    No good for JWs...

Indeed Franz left because he couldn't stand concealing from the R&F the many facts that he had found did not agree with the WTS doctrine particularly the 607 date. He thought all these things should have been revealed. It shows how rotten the GB are, they know about how erroneous their doctrines are but they won't change them feeding instead their followers with endless lies.

Are they really not supposed to read it? Mine has been, I found it and it has bookmarks all over the place of things he must have been looking up.

No, of course it isn't "apostate" material. I'm sure that large numbers of Witnesses still have it in their personal libraries.

No one in the K. Hall would say anything bad about the Aid book.

However, if some subject found in the Aid book has been "updated" in the Insight volumes, then the "updated" information takes precedence.

Come on, people, you were all Witnesses once, right? Even the Commentary on James book is still on the 2005 CD-ROM. It is still "up to date" even though it was mostly written by Ed Dunlap.

And, neither Ray Franz nor Ed Dunlap left willingly - they were forced out by judicial committees which likely received instructions from Governing Body members.

Many dubs of older years still treasure their Aid book. It has everything in one book not two volumes .Also the text of the Insight book was lifted directly from the Aid book - very little has changed over the years - who needs colour pics and maps anyway?

Dubs are unaware that Franz and Dunlap worked on the Aid book, and only old timers have even heard of them - and are unaware that Dunlap was d/f'd
