Divorce Records in the United Kingdom

We have been totally shunned for a couple of years now by my husband's family. We literally know nothing of what they are up to and doing etc.

My husband accidentally found out that his sister is in the process of getting a divorce from her husband and we don't know why, what or anything?

Obviously, the family are not going to tell us anything.

Does anyone in the UK know how we can get hold of court records to find out what happened with husband's sister and her husband, other wise, we remain totally in the dark over what happened to a couple that my husband always and still does cares about a lot?

Once a petition is granted, it's available for public viewing at local Court where it was issued (Decree Nisis used to be published in local Newspapers)

    Hi MC!

I'm afraid we live about 75 miles from where my husband's sister moved to about a year and a half ago.

    Is there no other way?

There's no point ever attempting to approach family, as the last time my husband needed to ask his mother for her passport number she just hung up on him. Try explaining to the passport office that you can't get that number because your mother is shunning you because you no longer belong to the same religious cult!

I hope we don't just appear nosey. I am not particularly bothered but my husband really wants to know what has happened to his sister and her husband as he used to be very close with them.
