I got sick, but this probably allowed me to save a life!

For 9 days I have been fighting a cold and a respiratory infection.

Today I finally broke down and dragged my ass to the doctor where the condition was finally treated. When I was in the waiting room I noticed an Awake!, which I promptly picked up and kept with me. After seeing the Dr I started walking down the hallway and found another Awake! sitting on a bench. I know for certain it wasn't there before because I definitely would have noticed it while walking in.

I concluded that I just happened to leave the doctor's office immediately after the JW went around leaving literature all over the place, so I checked the other two floors of the building and found one more Awake! magazine.

It was like following a trail of Awake! magazines leading from my doctor's office, down the hall and to the main lobby. I suspect the JW had visited my doctor and left Awake! magazines as he/she was leaving.

As I walked out the front door I ensured all three Awake! magazines were properly disposed of in a waste receptacle.

Just imagine... if I had not gotten sick, some poor unsuspecting soul could have found one of those Awake! magazines, became a JW and then died as a result of refusing life saving medical treatment.

I guess that makes me a hero! (maybe )

On the other hand, perhaps you simply allowed the publisher to count even more placements when he/she sees that they have been taken and refills the tables with more landfill bound literature. Maybe they'll even get a part at the ASSembly explaining how they just can't keep the magazines on the table- they're goin' like hotcakes!

    No good deed goes unpunished.

Elsewhere, I hope you checked the dates before you "wasted" them.

I found two Awakes at the V.A. hospital last year, and they were both pre-1995 !! They both had the "Generation 1914" before the change. Two Awakes pre-1995?..........Priceless !!!!!

    Hope you're feeling better.

They were the December 2006 issues. Something to the effect of "Who was Jebus?"

It's a good thing you got there in time! :)

Actually, I have some lables that I carry in my purse and if I come across them, I take out my lables and place them on the cover of the magazine. They say, "This group protects pedophiles from prosecution. For more information, visit http://www.silentlambs.com"

It just makes me feel better.

    jeanniebeanz,

    That is a fantastic idea!

Did you come up with it yourself?

Regardless, that is a great way to deal with WT literature placed in a public setting!

    HAHaha!!!!!!!!

Actually, I can't take credit for this one. I saw it here but do not remember who posted it... it's been a while. I do get some pretty good mileage out of it though. :)

That's kinda what my brother does, he writes on them with a marker with big words CULT, and sometimes includes a web address. I simply remove them, have a little fun with them, and them rip them to shreds before I throw them in the trash. Sometimes I run them through the paper shredder at work. Good job Elsewhere.
