My ex-jw brother in law told me the other day that he received a call from a brother asking him if he would like to come back to meetings. He told the brother not at this time. To make a long conversation short, the borther indicated that they have been told by HQ that TWO watchtowers will only be printed once a month. Supposedly this is coming up shortly. My BIL asked why two different watchtowers. The elder said it was because the public was not used to JW terminology, and that this PUBLIC watchtower would be "dumbed down". The R&F would be given the real JW version but you could only receive it if you were a publisher in good standing. Anyway, my BIL said why would the dumb down the rags for the public, isn't the public supposed to ask meaty questions regarding doctrine and stuff? My BIL said it sounded like HQ was being deceitfull. The elder assured him they were not and that Jehoba was speeding up the work and this was another fullfillment, (puke attack). My BIL didn't want to sound jaded and said, oh, ok. Thoughts?

Yes it has been confirmed. Starting Jan 2008, the WT will be published in two seperate editions. The Wt of the first of each month will be a "public" edition with no study articles, and the 15th of the month will see the "private" edition which will consist of the four study articles for each month. This edition, will, like the Kingdom Ministry, only be available to fully subscribed members of the WTS.

I have also heard about this. It sounded strange to me at first, but then again so do most of the things that the WTBTS has been putting out as of late. Desperate measures for deserate times. This little bit of news came to me about a week ago.
