    OK blokes and sheilas,

It's time to 'lighten up' and take your lesson in strine.

Remember you're trying your darnedest to get to understand that weird mob.

Today's lesson involves the colourful use of phrases beginning with the word 'up'.

    1. up a gumtree...........in trouble, or confused
    2. up King Street.........bankrupt, obsolete
    3. up s**t creek without a paddle....in deep trouble
    4. up the donga...........out in the country
    5. up the duff............vulgar term for being pregnant
    6. up the pole............confused, incorrect
    7. up the spout...........ruined, pregnant
    8. up there Cazaly!.......a cry of encouragement

Just 8 phrases today. We're now going to allow time for review so the next lesson will be in a day or two's time.

Please note that there will be NO Written Review on this topic.

Or should that be Rotten Review ? !

Anyone wishing details of the next joyful bbq on Sunday October 21st please e-mail to [email protected]

    Cheers,
    Ozzie

    Ozzie,

Are we allowed to get dressed "up" in our leather gear again??

    Prisca,
I am told that no GB will be at the BBQ (although Ted Jarasz is speaking of us affectionately at present!) so we are free to leave meeting clothes in the closet. Guess that means we could see some sartorial splendour again!

    Cheers,
    Ozzie
