I bought flowers and a card for my step-mum. I haven't known her very long, but she's a real sweetheart. (Non JW, of course).
I am now in touch with my paternal grandmother, but being new to Mother's Day, do I get a card/gift for my Nan, too?
Is it customary in the UK to send to nans as well as mums?
I probably will take her some flowers, but I just am not sure what the norm is here.
DNC (hoping my girls will make me breakfast in bed)

Hiya its going to be the first time i've given my mum a card for years!I am giving my nan a card mainly because my husband is sending his nan one with his flowers, as he can't send his mother one cos shes a jw. I'm sending my dads partner card and flowers too, mothers day is expensive for me!Just do whatever you want to, if your nan hasn't anyone else to give her a card its a nice idea. Me too hoping to get brekkies in bed - but HIGHLY unlikely!lol Have a great day, its my first mothers day too from my sons

Thanks DNC i'm sure i will love it!I'm going to mums to cook for 9 of us, not something i usually do so it'll be interesting!
Yes i'm rather fond of Somerset, but i've never lived anywhere else, and can't think that i ever will! The only place in Wales i've been to is Cardiff, shopping and seeing pop groups, saw Bryan Adams there years ago and Duran Duran about 5yrs ago(probably shouldn't mention that though lol)
Have a great day tomorrow and you too free2think! My mum has been SO long suffering!I think she can't wait to get a card from me at long last!
