I asked my mother one time why no one ever signed the articles that were written in the WT and Awake. She said that were just being modest and did not want to receive undo praise for themselves but wanted to direct all the attention to Jehovah and that they were really proving themselves to be discreeet.
Do JW's still repeat this reason?
Yep, Perry. That's the explanation that's usually given.
However........now that I know the truth about the "truth," it seems more than likely that it enables the writers to have merciful anonymity in case their written predictions and declarations prove to be "less than faultless." It all falls back on the GB, which are *supposed to be" in oversight over all the "light" generated through the mags allegedly via the Holy Spirit.
...Maybe cause many articles are written by women and we all know that we spiritually inadequate women could never "teach" you superior men...

If that is true, then why do the speakers as assemblies claim we are cowards for posting on exJW Internet sites using anonymous pseudonyms?

50. CONFIDENTIALITY: It is important that translators keep their work confidential. Apart from the responsible brothers and those involved in the project, others (including marriage mates and other Bethelites) do not need to know (a) what is being translated and (b) who is translating a particular item. No publication should ever be associated with a particular person. This is especially so in the case of Bible translators. This confidentiality protects both the organization and the translators.

Hey, Elsewhere in a strange way I think that's the frist compliment I've ever gotten from these jerks. In other words,they're saying those that do post there names and pics, are courageous. How kind of them to acknowledge.
It seems the bible has many authors as the point was made above. I wonder in their case, if it might have something to do with accountability and lieing.

If the Watchtower Society was being consistent in their arguments for modesty; I don't see why they would see the need to print full color photos of all of the Governing Body members with their names in the latest yearbook. (I don't see anything wrong with officers of an organization being known) I have a hard time understanding why the Governing Body can be named and photographed for the publications; yet no one is allowed to know the names of those on the New World Translation Committee out of a sense of modesty. I wish the WTS would quit the transparent pretenses and pseudo-piety.
Most of those things according to Ray Franz are written by non anointed dubs and so it's best to hide the fact by making authors anonymous, the R&F may start asking why aren't some of the many anointed not contributing anything, and how are the non anointed getting inspiration?
