I just received a report from an active JW who went to a circuit assembly in Eastern Tennessee, stating that attendance was 1960 for the Sunday address. He also stated that 9 were baptized, giving a "growth rate" of 0.46% (if one assumes that all 9 were Bible Studies, and not merely children of JW parents). Sounds as if "the love of the greater number is cooling off" in Tennessee : ) Well, I'm sure that's what JW's would say, anyway.

Hip Hip Hooray, The field service here in Tennessee has slacked off, I havent had a JW at my door in years, and I hardly ever see them. I have come in contact with a JW recently, and he has been coming by to "study" with me.

95 % of the time it's children of JW's getting baptized and eventually they leave once they reach their late teens

Junction-Guy, you have a study? ROFLMAO!! That is great! How do you hide your feelings while they're there. What is the status of your study? Are you progressing spiritually?

Well he has been using the "What does the bible really teach book" but he has been skipping around alot in the book. I figured he would just start from the beginning and go forward. It kinda makes it hard for me to prepare beforehand, because I never know what subjects he will approach.

I have had some fun playing cat and mouse with them, and even objected to the blood doctrine.

He has no clue that I was ever a JW, I have kept that well hidden, I did mention to him that I have some relatives that are JW's and that I know a little about it.

I have really played "dumb" with him, but Im gonna start stepping it up here in the next few weeks, and being just a slight bit more confrontational.

    Junction -Guy,

That's so funny! Why is he jumping around so much? I thought they were supposed to let the study choose the subjects? Maybe he thinks if he keeps you baffled enough you will finally cry Uncle and want to get baptized just in case?

Im not sure Carla, but I just figured that he would start from the begining like we used to do.

I did tell him that I disagreed with the blood doctrine, his words to me were "Oh I understand"

He always brings a different younger guy with him who is less experienced. Im hoping that maybe something I can say will plant seeds of doubt in those younger guys minds.

The man who is studying with me is a "WT heavy" and a Company man through and through. I would say that he and I are evenly matched, he probably has never met his match before, but now he has.

It's obvious that our COUNTER-CULT programs are rapidly progressing to the POINT OF NO RETURN for the WTBTS here in East Tennessee.

Either that or the Tennessee JW's are beginning to realise that they've been had by this group of religious fabnatics and snake charmers who call themselves 'THE FAITHFUL DISCREET SLAVE'
