Is a Holy Day becoming just another Holiday? Easter Bunny Rabbit, Chocolate Candy in all shapes and sizes, Jelly Beans etc. Where's the talk about "The Resurrection?" What do you think about this question presented on Fox 5 this am.?

I think thats what the statement of the chocolate jesus was all about. It is just another secular holiday and in many western civilised countries thats how the majority of the public treat it. Certainly in Britain that's the case. Its nice to see religion and all the primitive superstition die away, but the blatant commercialism to replace it isn't any better.
Consumers are just buying chocolate instead of god. God needs to re-market his product and re-define his customer base.

So true. I found that most people who believe in God, know so little of what is in the bible and the story behind some of the smaller holiday's. Children know much about Thanksgiving here in the state's, a little about Christmas and nothing about Easter and their parent's usually know less.

Yes, but chocolate is yummy at least.

That's so true Crumpet.
I've had a little chocolate this easter, but I haven't bothered with god, nor do I intend to.
Still no talk about "The Resurrection!" Jews and Muslims talk about there belief on their Holy Days. Outside of The Pope and Church services, you don't hear too much about 'The Resurrection" of Jesus. It should be the biggest news and the most talked about subject today, about a man who conquered death for all mankind.

Blue, I think the secularization is a good thing. It gives the Christian right something to rail about! We had a wonderful lamb roast yesterday cause Costco was catering to the Xtians that go for muttin on Easter. So, we got a great meal on sale!! As one who rejected the whole literal resurrection years ago, Easter for me has always been just a fun time for the kids to color eggs, hide them from each other then have one heck of a big potato salad with all those hard boiled eggs. Crumpet, regarding God re-marketing, I'm convinced He has. Not unlike the early beginings of Christianity and Islam, it all starts with one person and works its "magic" and eventually becomes known, but not commonly accepted for quite some time.. carmel
