Yes, adult stem cell research looks promising on numerous fronts.
Hopefully, this actually leads to a permanent cure!

Hang on. It is still in its trial stages. The research was done on newly diagnosed diabetes (Stage 1 if I remember correctly) While some went into remission and only one who has been off injections for 3 years they are a far cry from hailing this as a "cure"
A study of 15 people is almost not worth noting. It wouldn't be scientific until studies involving hundreds of subjects are done and the results are replicated. They have tons of work to do before the medical community can really call this a cure
But it is very promising
