What's the deal with the hypocrocy? I have two sister who "claim" JW but they both have had abortions, they both chose "worldly" spouses, they both refuse to be dedicated to the organization and one has even had a blood tranfussion. Is there beginning to be be two seperate kind of JW's...Liberal (playing church) and 4real (true beleivers)????

Welcome Mr. BornAgain to the forum.

I think what you may be seeing is what has been pointed out to me. I've been out for 14 years now and am "out of step" w/what is going on in the cong. Sounds like with a lot of those still coming they have lost their zeal and no doubt their mindless and blind following of the organization and their rules.

There still remains what is known as "hardliners" those that follow every directive, but more and more are drawing a line.

They are DINOs...Dubs In Name Only. I'm guessing they're there for the social aspect? Because otherwise they ostensibly have no desire to conform to the religion.

Have your sisters actually been baptized as JWs? This makes all the difference. There are many people who attend the Kingdom Hall and say that they are JWs, but have not been baptized yet. I could cite sevreral cases of people I knew who had never been baptized; engaged in all kinds of activities which were in violation of JW doctrine; and still claimed to be a JW. If they are not baptized, and are not yet publishers, then there is virtually nothing the elders can do about any "wrongdoing" they might be involved in.

There's every level Witness as there is Catholic. I was baptized in 1957 and we had orthodox and very liberal Witnesses then too. Now there are so many more Witnesses, we just notice it more. The orthodox are called "strong" and the liberals are called "weak".

Rigidity was a sort of a regional thing, with the west coast of the United States the most liberal as a region. Here in the midwest it was rare to find a Witnesses in our group who drank alcohol. Being a Jehovah's Witnesses is almost more of a nationality than a religion. They actually see themselves as subjects under a theocratic government managed by a book publishing business in the United States.

The elders are sort of like city cops and the circuit servants are like traveling judges. The elders have more power than a real cop on many levels and the judges have way more power that a civil judge. Under the light of day the group management looks like a fascist government.

My friend calls them "social witnesses". Many of them grew up in the religion and get away with as much as they can. They are only there for the social life and because others expect them to be.

They "claim", or they "are"? Refuse to be "dedicated" as in baptized?
