I have tried GOOGLE and my own personal files...and I just can't FIND the printed thought that said "a JW MUST agree with ALL the teachings of the WTS"....or words to that effect....

I am developing some thoughts to "share" over on the "Knocking" forum. (I asked in one post---if "knocking" referred to JWs at the doors, or what they do to all other religions.....

I'd appreciate any help with this....even with other excerpts that relate to this thought---would be great!

    hugs,

    Hey there Annie,

I did a quick search on my rom and found a few quotes you might find useful:

    *** w06 1/1 pp. 28-29 Seeking Righteousness Will Protect Us ***

    Beware of an Independent Spirit

    16

In Eden, Satan successfully appealed to Eve’s selfish desire for independence. Eve wanted to make her own decisions about right and wrong. (Genesis 3:1-6) In the first century, some in the Corinthian congregation had a similar independent spirit. They thought they knew better than Paul, and he sarcastically called them superfine apostles.—2 Corinthians 11:3-5; 1 Timothy 6:3-5.

    17

In the world today, many are "headstrong, puffed up with pride," and some Christians have been influenced by that way of thinking. Some have even become opposers of the truth. (2 Timothy 3:4; Philippians 3:18) When it comes to pure worship, it is vital that we look to Jehovah for direction and cooperate with "the faithful and discreet slave" and the congregation elders. That is a way to seek righteousness, and it protects us from developing an independent spirit. (Matthew 24:45-47; Psalm 25:9, 10; Isaiah 30:21) The congregation of the anointed is "a pillar and support of the truth." Jehovah has provided it to protect and guide us. (1 Timothy 3:15) Recognizing its vital role will help us to ‘do nothing out of egotism’ as we humbly submit to Jehovah’s righteous will.—Philippians 2:2-4; Proverbs 3:4-6.

    ***w023/15p.14par.7ChristLeadsHisCongregation***

As in the first century, a small group of qualified men from among the anointed overseers now serve as the Governing Body, representing the composite faithful and discreet slave. Our Leader uses this Governing Body to appoint qualified men—whether spirit-anointed or not—as elders in the local congregations. In this regard, the holy spirit, which Jehovah has given Jesus authority to employ, plays a pivotal role. (Acts 2:32, 33) First of all, these overseers must meet the requirements set out in God’s Word, which was inspired by holy spirit. (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 2 Peter 1:20, 21) The recommendations and appointments are made after prayer and under the guidance of the holy spirit. Additionally, the individuals appointed give evidence of producing the fruitage of that spirit. (Galatians 5:22, 23) Paul’s counsel, then, applies with equal force to all elders, whether anointed or not: "Pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the holy spirit has appointed you overseers." (Acts 20:28) These appointed men receive direction from the Governing Body and willingly shepherd the congregation. In this way, Christ is with us now and is actively leading the congregation.

    *** w93 1/15 p. 30 par. 21 Guard Against Idolatry of Every Sort ***

    21

Instead of seeking fame, God’s people comply with Paul’s admonition: "Whether you are eating or drinking or doing anything else, do all things for God’s glory." (1 Corinthians 10:31) Being Jehovah’s servants, we do not idolatrously insist on our own way but joyfully do the divine will, accepting direction from "the faithful and discreet slave" and cooperating fully with Jehovah’s organization.—Matthew 24:45-47.

***w9011/1p.30‘ContinuetoBeReadjusted’***Further direction comes from "the faithful and discreet slave" class of anointed Christians. These have been helped by Jehovah’s spirit to understand his will progressively. (Matthew 24:45-47; Proverbs 4:18) Thus, when direction comes from Jehovah’s organization, we can wisely submit to it, knowing full well that Jehovah will only lead us in a way that will be to our everlasting benefit.—Isaiah 48:17.

    w885/1p.13par.14TheChallengeofFollowinginHisFootsteps***

Not keeping pace with Christ could mean one of two things. Either we try to go faster, running ahead of "the faithful and discreet slave" that Jesus is using to accomplish Jehovah’s purpose, or we lag behind in following that ‘slave’s’ direction. (Matthew 24:45-47) As an example of the first, some Christians have in times past become impatient about doctrinal or organizational changes or refinements that they felt were necessary and overdue. Becoming disgruntled because they felt things were not moving quickly enough, they withdrew from Jehovah’s people. How foolish and how shortsighted! Often the very thing that upset them was later changed—in Jehovah’s due time.—Proverbs 19:2; Ecclesiastes 7:8, 9.

    Hope this is helpful.

    BrightSpot,

Do a search for the Walsh Trials - which took place in Scotland

For my money having their lawyer come right out and say, under oath, to direct questioning that JW's MUST agree to believe the doctrine of the WT - even when wrong - no choice - becauase Unity is more important than Truth is absolute the absolute GOLD STANDARD of admission of being a CULT.

    w86 4/1 p. 31 Questions From Readers***

Approved association with Jehovah’s Witnesses requires accepting the entire range of the true teachings of the Bible, including those Scriptural beliefs that are unique to Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Disagreeing with any of their unique Scriptural beliefs gets you labeled as a vile and evil apostate and your family will disown you.

Obviously, a basis for approved fellowship with Jehovah’s Witnesses cannot rest merely on a belief in God, in the Bible, in Jesus Christ, and so forth. The Roman Catholic pope, as well as the Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury, professes such beliefs, yet their church memberships are exclusive of each other. Likewise, simply professing to have such beliefs would not authorize one to be known as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Approved association with Jehovah’s Witnesses requires accepting the entire range of the true teachings of the Bible, including those Scriptural beliefs that are unique to Jehovah’s Witnesses. What do such beliefs include?

    A couple more:

    *** w85 6/1 p. 20 par. 17 Walk With Confidence in Jehovah’s Leadership ***

    17

So, then, let us ‘bless Jehovah and never forget all the doings of the One who crowns our life with loving-kindness and mercies.’ (Psalm 103:2-4) If we always remember our loving God and act in harmony with his Word, we will maintain strong confidence in his unfailing leadership. (Proverbs 22:19) To turn away from Jehovah and his organization, to spurn the direction of "the faithful and discreet slave," and to rely simply on personal Bible reading and interpretation is to become like a solitary tree in a parched land.

This next one is actually pretty good with clarification:

    ***w963/15pp.16-17MeetingtheChallengeofLoyalty***

    LoyaltytoJehovah’sOrganization

    9

We now come to the matter of being loyal to Jehovah’s visible organization. Certainly, we owe loyalty to it, including "the faithful and discreet slave," through which the Christian congregation is fed spiritually. (Matthew 24:45-47) Suppose that something appears in Watch Tower publications that we do not understand or agree with at the moment. What will we do? Take offense and leave the organization? That is what some did when TheWatchTower, many years ago, applied the new covenant to the Millennium. Others took offense at what TheWatchtower once said on the issue of neutrality. If those who stumbled over these matters had been loyal to the organization and to their brothers, they would have waited on Jehovah to clarify these matters, which he did in his due time. Thus, loyalty includes waiting patiently until further understanding is published by the faithful and discreet slave.

I.e. if a person's conscience tells them that something the JW's is doing is not quite right, they need to put their loyalty to the Organization ABOVE their conscience.

Kisses and hugs to the BEST and most helpful (and understanding) friends....
