Do You Reflect Any Of Your Parents Qualities?

It struck me the other day, how much does the offspring of Jehovah’s Witnesses
reflect their parents. Apart from religion, which I think it is safe to say, that most
here if not all differ from their parents about that matter.

However, in what other ways are you similar to your parents? Please do not tell
me that you do not have anything of your parent’s qualities at all.

Starting With Me

Individuals who know me say I reflect my father in work ethic, sense of humor
and being clean-cut. Taste in music in particular, Doo-Wop is something that I
will probably take to my grave.

Where my parents and I differ is our education neither of my parents have a
high-level of education whereas I do.

What qualities do you reflect from your parents?

Sense of humour and looks.

Thats where it starts and ends. I can honestly say that apart from these 2 traits, I have no similarities at all with my parents. I don't like my parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister, and the feeling is mutual. (sometimes I feel like I was adopted!!)

I have worked hard to be this way. I see life the complete opposite to them and always have. I am honest in all dealings (sometimes to our detriment), they are as dishonest as they can be and then some (sometimes I think this is the only way to get ahead, but I couldn't sleep at night if I chose to live like this. And I need my sleep ) . I try not to judge others, and if I do, I kick myself up the a**, and apologise. They judge others to within an inch of their life, and the word apologise is not in their vocabulary. They are arrogant, ignorant, have no schooling and don't beleive in education (armaggeddon will fix that), I believe strongly in education and my children will have the best education we can afford. They think they are never wrong, and live their lives believing this. They are JW's, we are not and never will go back.

I think I'll stop now, as I'm getting annoyed at them again!

I got my father's sense of humor for sure. Fart jokes just never get old. I got my father's burning need to win every argument, and his debate skills (my mother is horrible at it). I got my mother's taste in food and my mother's work ethic (I could be shot 17 times and I'd still probably make it to work), but I got my father's love of work (I may be there, but I complain the entire time).

For the looks department, I got the crap of both. My father is 6'4, I'm 5'9. My father has nice olive skin, I have the complexion of paper. My mother has blond hair and blue eyes, I got dark hair, though my eyes are emerald green which isn't too bad.

My biggest fear in life, most of my life, is doing anything that is remotely like my mother. Just this morning I was ironing something for work and the way I was moving around and talking to my daughter I went.......eeeeeeeekkkk I am my mother.

I don't know my father so I dont know what I have from him that was genetic.

My mother has alot of great qualities. I got my independant nature, creativeness from her. I have had to weed out alot of her bad qualities that I would find in myself.

She was very abusive to me, jealous, very demanding. She was crazy about alot of things, over the top........in that the house was spotless and nothing was out of place, she was selfish.

For years I wore my hair short cuz she wore hers long so I would not even look like her.

She drove all her kids away from her and I cant get rid of mine!!!!!! My sister said she did not get the parent gene. We used to laugh about it but I think there is scientific evidence that there is some sort gene for that.

Mainly my Dad's qualities. Good at arguing and winning lol - His temper, his humour, the same walk and loads more... kinda scary since we dont get on at all lol

I look like my father. My father was a musician. I am a musician. My father never was a witnoid. Now I am not a Witnoid. My father rode motorcycles. I ride motorcycles. My father bought stocks. I buy stocks. My father paid his house off when he was young. I paid my house off when I was 40.

My father liked George Bush. I think George Bush is an asp. I might have spelled that wrong.

My fathers dead. I'm still sucking up the airconditioning.

My mother. Shes my mother but all the bad of the witnesses came through her. It hard to have good feelings about that. NO education. No preparing for the future. Armegedon in 75.

I tried to raise my son 180 degrees oposite of the way my parents raised me. And he still comes around every week.
