It seems to be that the Society do their best to discourage any form of personal inspiration. They almost 'turn off' the ability for people to think that Holy Spirit spoke to them, the music doesn't even have any feeling to it. Its boring as hell.
I believe the reason is to keep dubs under the thumb incase contrasting images came up - that of what the Society SAYS is right and what you BELIEVE to be right.

You are absolutely 100% correct ... perhaps more correct than you realize. The Society has pointedly published their position that independent thinking is a no-no for JWs. They have removed anything where individualism might be expressed so that they control all behavior. In the early 1970s I used to paint the backdrops for Circuit Assemblies ... and I had creative license to do as I wished. That all changed and then with the advent of Circuit Assembly Halls, they simply ended backdrops. They ended live instruments so that JWs only sing by Society made tapes ... it is a very boring and sickening religion.

They certainly take the spirituality out of god. So many years I'd be in the hall looking out at a beautiful day and wondering why god thought it was so important for me to be sitting here not learning anything when I could be out enjoying the beautiful forest.
seems like most of you have either thought this through and/or seen this for yourselves.
as you say amazing, they have gone through a process of taking things away as some of the things that allowed for personal inspiration were once in place.
So true and as Amazing posted the Society squelches any independant thinking and yet the Bibles says in Proverbs to keep searching as for hid treasure, keep looking, keep asking,
Jesus said to keep knocking, searching and asking.
I dont think this was the instruction of just a few who live in NYC who proclaim they are THE channel.
