I have read some say that the shift from 1874 to 1914 for the Parousia took place in 1943, just one year after Rutherford died.
As I was looking through some material, I came across the following from the Golden Age of April 10, 1935, page 432.
“The long anticipated Hope of the World began His reign on Lifeday. Edenic Day No. 2170097 (Thursday, October 1, 1914). It is from that date that the 1260 days of Daniel 12:7 begin to count.
“Because it is the reign of Christ Jesus that constitutes the Second Presence or Parousia, it would seem not to be improper to say that the Second Advent occurred on Lifeday, King 10, Edenic Day No. 2170097, Y.R. 1882 (Thursday October 1, A.D. 1914) under moon 73486.”
So exactly how did the transition occur? Or am I reading the above quotation incorrectly?

My understanding is that series of 1935 Golden Age magazines (on "the Calendar of Jehovah God") changed the date of Adam's creation from 4,128 BC to a hundred years later so that the end of the 6,000 years was no longer in the nineteenth century but in the twentieth century. As for the Parousia beginning in 1914 instead of 1874. That change was shortly before...from around 1930 to 1933. I think the first clear statement in the Watchtower magazine for 1914 as the time of the Parousia was in 1933. I have seen citations to a 1930 Golden Age issue that supposedly says the same thing but I haven't had the opportunity to examine that myself yet.

From what i understand 1914 was briefly mentioned in the 30's then not referred to again until 1943 as a replacement for 1874.
