A few weeks ago I saw Dansk's thread about stem cell donation, so I went to my GP to enquire about it.
He arranged for me to have blood tests to make sure everything was in order and that I wasn't anaemic or anything.
Yesterday, I went back to discuss the results and it turns out that I have a thyroid problem (underactive, I think).
It is easily solved with medication, so I'm not worried. He also wants to check my glucose again and my cholesterol was a little higher than it should be. I'm slim built so I (stupidly) didn't consider my cholesterol.
So, THANK YOU DANSK for your stem donation thread!! I can now get medication for a problem I didn't know I had and I now can alter my eating habits to lower my cholesterol.
I'm not sure now, though if I can still donate stem cells. If I can, I will.
Thanks Dansk! (Asked the doctor about donating stem cells...)

Just found out that the thyroid problem probably won't stop me donating, but my steroid inhalers that I take for asthma probably will!!
