I'm about to get into a trade.
I basically can get an apprenticeship in either trade. Any suggestions?

Any pipefitters by trade out there/ or telecom tradesmen?

If you've definitely narrowed it down to those two, I'll give you my two cents on them:
Pipefitting- dirty, potentially more dangerous work. Wages are good (from a blue collar perspective) for both union and non-union shops. Bottom line, more physical, less things to know.
Telecom installers- clean environment, less dangerous work (except for pole climbers). Wages are good (from a blue collar perspective) for both union and non-union shops. Bottom line, less physically demanding, way more to know.
BA -I'd say that about nets it out.
PS -Disclaimer: I've owned and worked for companies in the construction and telecom space as an engineer, consultant, and executive. I also have friends who have done so. My comments reflect what I know, from that perspective.
I personally would stay away from both trades. You will probably make too much money and then be tempted by materialism!
