Greetings all, I have come buy today to announce a new ecumenical Christian internet fellowship and forum community. It's fairly young and still being expanded/modified so as to be more inclusive. It's called Emmaus Way. http://www.emmaus-way.net We have attempted to provide a section for every major and/or identifiable branch of Christianity -- Jehovah's witnesses. We have a section dedicated to the Catholic and various Orthodox (or related) traditions, as well as all the various Protestant (and related) movements and traditions. We even have a section for the fringe groups which may or may not normally be considered Christian. I am inviting people and believers from all walks of life and all Christian backgrounds to join and participate in this new endeavor. Staff should be people who are devoted in their walk and life to the Lord Jesus and His teaching, who are studious, respectful, articulate, able to communicate effectively via the internet/forums, and well versed in their tradition and distinctives. So, please, come check us out. Help us build a virtual fellowship of and for all believers across the spectrum of professing Christianity. For more information contact me by email or the contact page at Emmaus Way. Thanks. In Christian love

Apparently the poster thinks this is a forum for active JW's. I searched for similarly worded posts on Google and found this same notice at http://www.christianchurchtoday.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4305. Amusingly, it ISN'T quite the same. In the version sent to us -- presumably JW's -- it says:

    >>We even have a section for the fringe groups which may or may not normally be considered Christian.

But in the version sent to the "non-fringe group" above, that same sentence reads:

    >>We even have a section for the fringe groups and self proclaimed "Christian" groups and/or cults (we need to defend the gospel and help convert them from the error of their ways, right?).

    LOL!

Hey Man, Why would you go and do a thing like that? Now my toes hurt! I was only trying to put my best foot forward. =) Since doing so I have had a little feedback and reflection that has led me to make some adjustments to the way I worded things. At any rate, everyone is invited. I may not agree with JW beliefs but I do think we can dialog about them civilly and together come to a better understanding of the teaching of Christ. So... this is NOT a JW forum? I sure thought it was. What kind of forum is this? You guys are still invited over to Emmaus Way, just the same. I hope that the warm intent can be seen through my muddled attempts at expression in cold type. *blush* Blessings

Boy are you in for a surprise LOL.

Good luck with your site, hope it goes well. For the sake of civility I would stick with a message board for one type of religion, putting them all together is like asking for a flame war.

Thanks Tuesday! I realize the ideal and the process may be two completely different things. lol So, anybody gonna explain this place to me? It looks like an unofficial JW site for both current and former JW's. What am I missing, here?

    Hey Cleo,

    >>*blush*

OK, my turn to blush. Sorry Pal, but you looked just exactly like a hit-n-run, scatter-links-all-over-internet spammer to me. I'm not usually so quick to judge. Sorry, really.

Thank you. This IS an open forum, inviting both ex-JW's and current JW's (and anyone else) to come and discuss issues. Primarily JW-related issues, but not exclusively.

You may or may not realize that JW's are a highly controlled group. Any active JW that visits here is running a risk of discipline from the congregation, just for reading it. Consider that. Crazy, eh?

You are welcome to be here, but I don't think posting links to your own web site for sheer promotional purposes is allowed. If your thread gets deleted, don't take it personally:

Posting Guidelines -- To ensure all users feel safe and keen to participate, please avoid:
    ...
    6. Advertising -- You can mention relevant, non-commercial websites as long as they support your comment.

Again, my apologies for 'stomping your toes'! :-)

Thanks! =) I will certainly respect the decisions of the staff here. But, honestly, I do not believe that my post was a violation of the rules. MY link is a non-commercial link and it is provided in a post where it is certainly applicable to the subject --- an open invitation. =) I'm a little confused with this forum software. I can't seem to get the post's to appear for public consumption as I intend. It keeps lumping everything together. My apologies. I am sure it is my ignorance of the forum software or code. So... Did any of you check out the site? Any feedback? impressions? Suggestions? I really want to grow a Christ centered and Christ glorifying fellowship that can be a powerful virtual force for believers everywhere. I suppose it's a bit naive to think a "regular joe" like me can accomplish that. But I know that God sees my heart and intent. For His glory
