Moral and upright but substandard

I recall how the FDS was castigating those that didn't do any field service making them out to be spiritually dead though otherwise they may well be very moral and responsible people. And the intimidation that those who do not support the kingdom ie do not preach will be punished by the angels during the time of the end. They have hidden the money their master gave them, they are lazy and worthless slaves deseving of punishment.

We can see the devious manipulation once more, they seek to put intense pressure on everyone to "do the preaching work of jehovah" and if they don't they are basically putting them on the same level as fornicators and thieves a great offence for those of them that are morally upright. Yet a little charity work by them would have been worth millions of hours of preaching in persuading the public.

And who said this devious organisation is not a cult?

Is it not necessary for the king to have the slaves nourish and expand his kingdom to its fullest !

    Me thinks so........

The problem is they identify the kingdom of god with their own corporation so that the R&F end up working for them when they think they work for God's kingdom. It's too much for them to grasp that all this preaching is not genuine but a scam calculated to exploit them.

they think that their preaching is charity work. so sad. much better to help people NOW rather than to say - well god will sort it out soon. someone homeless would prefer a house now rather than one in the new system. someone being abused would prefer it to stop rather than to be content that one day it will soon be a distant memory.

o i forgot - of course everyone is going to die anyhow in the GT so why bother helping them now?

Agreed greendawn. To preach that salvation comes through organizational membership, constitutes preaching a new gospel; something that the apostle Paul condemned. An excellent Scriptural passage is in 1Corinthians chapter 12. Paul discusses the Body of Christ, and relates how different members would serve in different capaciites, much like the physical body. In verses4 and 5, Paul writes: "There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit gives them. There are different ways of serving, but the same Lord is served." ( Good News Translation ) The message in chapter 12 shoots down the notion that Christians are to subjugate themselves to an organizationally programmed treadmill of works where they must all march in lock-step conformity with the organization.

Oh how they love to quote "faith without works is dead", but what proof is there that "works" refers to field service? Another scripture taken out of context, as reading the entire chapter would show.

It's true that sometimes the JWs when asked why they don't do any charity work they reply that their preaching is their charitable contribution to society they dedicate to it time and energy. It's a lame excuse because there are many needy and loyal JWs who are not part of society ie the non JW society and the early church preached and also did charitable works for those inside but also to a degree for outsiders.

And true in the early church not all members were preachers but only some who were gifted in this way, the rest preached through their christian way of living. For anyone thinking objectively it is obvious that the WTS puts undue pressure on its members to preach which indicates there must be a concealed ulterior motive in all this.
