It's Victoria Day today - most people have the day off work (yippee)!

Went out for breakfast with a girlfriend.

Took the dogs for a 5km hike, beautiful day for it, lots of people out on the trails. I've attached a couple of pictures. At about the half way mark (just over 2ks) after climbing a steep hill, I came across a bench that someone made, overlooking the valley, beautiful spot, and just the perfect place to stop for a rest.

Met my brother and family for a bbq yesterday. They were camping with another family and we had a great time visiting, and rescuing the kids from their capsized canoe!! lol

Tonite, when it gets a bit darker, we are walking to the park to watch the fireworks.

I love long weekends!

Hiya Bumble Bee.....yup, it was a gorgeous day today...I was at our trailer thisafternoon, cleaning up after being out there all weekend. It just goes too fast....ah well, next weekend will be here soon enough................

In the US, Memorial Day is coming up this coming weekend. And, as always, the ~~God machines~~Witnesses will be out there knocking on doors all bloody weekend. They do go out a little later: 9:30 instead of 9:00. That's their only concession to the holiday. Oh yes, they still want people out in street work at 5:30 in the morning.

Yea, right. I have seen what it looks like on a regular morning at 5:30 in the morning. On a holiday weekend, it is absolutely dead. Whoever put that in the KM of 2/2004 should have been out there at that time to see just how many people there actually are to place magazines with before starting it on a national basis. (I know that the KM only suggested it, but knowing the Watchtower Society, if they suggest something, you NEVER question it and say that it won't work for us.

Us ex's are free of that nonsense. We don't have to worry about getting up that early in the morning and finding the stray person to talk to at 5:30 in the morning or at any time. We can just set up the barbecue grill and have a good time. We can enjoy our beer (Please do not drink and drive!) We can enjoy time with the family or friends. We can sit out and enjoy the growing trees and vegetables. We can set out the vegetable garden plants that are frost-sensitive (unless you live high up in the mountains or in the far North where it can still freeze). The only hassle is having those &$(@ Witlesses knocking on our door at 9:30 in the morning.

I celebrated Victoria Day in Ottawa a couple of years back - we should have it over here i reckon!

Yes, we have Memorial Day holiday weekend coming up and I was invited to a BBQ at the home of my new family. They've adopted me as their Uncle CoCo and we do all sorts of things together. They know my background as a JW and are sympatico and caring. I'm sure the dubs will call by as my "family" is on the route. Should prove interesting as it's also my birthday, though I haven't mentioned it yet. It's still too weird being in this transitional phase.

A sane and safe weekend to all, regardless of what holiday it may - or may not - be!
